A bit of cbd oil in a vape shouldn't be a serious charge but in this political climate....

Going to foreign totalitarian states with drugs is just plain stupid. Even if they're not totalitarian, it's still fucking stupid.

The movie Midnight Express was very popular, about a guy smuggling hash from Turkey and got locked up their jails. I had ZERO sympathy for the main character.

They also plant drugs on high profile people there to get kompromat. Just another idea to consider. Unsure of it for this case.

Unless you're in Russia and they just invaded another country and what any kind of leverage over America.

I forget the song.

I know the movie was very well received/reviewed and we were supposed feel bad for him for the way he was treated in prison. But for the reasons I stated above, I figured he got what he deserved. As such, the movie did not really resonate with me.

The theme song for the movie was also used as Art Bell's intro music on his radio show. That's how it remains forever engrained into my memory, I used to listen to Art's show "Coast to Coast AM."
"Chase" by Giorgio Moroder. I love this song!

On the fringe or on the cutting edge, he was always worth listening to. First I heard any of the science behind global warming was on his show. 1970's? Was hearing it on WWL in NOLA, I remember, so it was many moons...

Nobody in Singapore would have set her up in the first place...

yip, No surprise. Marbles, sports or politics, any time a Russian judge is involved its fixed.

Griner sentenced to nine years in prison by Russian judge
KHIMKI, Russia (AP) — U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner was convicted Thursday in Russia of drug possession and smuggling and was sentenced to nine years in prison in a politically charged case that could lead to a high-stakes prisoner exchange between Washington and Moscow.

The 31-year-old Griner, a two-time U.S. Olympic champion and a eight-time all-star with the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, listened with a blank expression as an interpreter translated the verdict by Judge Anna Sotnikova, but her lawyers said later she was “very upset.” Griner also was fined 1 million rubles (about $16,700).
