Saw Roger Maris hit his 60th HR at Yankee Stadium to tie Babe Ruth's record. Saw Chuck Bednarik break Frank Gifford's neck at Yankee Stadium. Saw Gump Worsley and Andy Bathgate play for the pathetic Rangers at the old MSG on 8th Ave. between 49th and 50th Sts. Watched Dick Clark's American bandstand. And yes, ladies and gentleman, I saw the Beatles the first time they strapped on geetars in North America at the full dress rehearsal of the first Ed Sullivan show.
I saw the Leafs win a Stanley Cup, make that 4 Stanley Cups. I saw the Start of the old AFL which later merged with the NFL. I remember when the NBA’s Buffalo Braves played some home games at Maple Leaf Gardens. I remember when the Toronto Marlboros played in the OHL and played in front of a packed Arena at Maple Leaf Gardens.
