The counting stopped at 3 am and was too close to call. It remains so. But it appears that the governor has burned a lot of good will, the incumbent was expected to win in a walk before the union issue.

I'm not sure how far this fallout will spread but these results obviously are connected to the union issue.I'm not sure the term"lame duck governor" exists, but i think over time he will become one on that issue alone.
Unionists have very long memories.Blue will be a dominant colour there for a while
