In today's game Finland reminded me of the mid-1990's New Jersey Devils. Clog the middle, suffocate the opposition attack, and just wait to cash in on one of their mistakes.

I think that we're mainly splitting hairs.
No, we're not "splitting hairs". You're just out of touch.
Major tournaments Gold Medal matchups since 2020.
Gold metal games. Not prelim games where I'll make it to the Finals anyway if I lose this one.
How on earth is this US is far superior to Can?
You make it sound like Canada was lucky to get the game to OT since they were clearly inferior
and overtime is 3 on 3.

  • 2026 Olympics: USA def. Canada (2-1, OT)
  • 2025 Worlds: USA def. Canada
  • 2024 Worlds: Canada def. USA
  • 2023 Worlds: USA def. Canada
  • 2022 Olympics: Canada def. USA (3-2)
  • 2022 Worlds: Canada def. USA
  • 2021 Worlds: Canada def. USA

I apologize for having a different opinion than you.

You are 100% correct and I am 100% wrong.

How could I have been so stupid? Canada has NOT lost 6 straight games to the US. And even if they did, they don't count.

8:10 am tomorrow morning! We will find out which team could stand out in this special occasion. Defense win the Championship!

Let's go, C!
An 8:10 am start is a wasted opportunity to garner a huge North American audience.
I know....I know. The hockey final is always on the last Sunday and finishes before the closing ceremony.
They could have started at 11:00 am EST and still finished before the closing ceremony at 2:30 pm EST.

The hell with tradition. They could have started a day earlier and had the final Saturday afternoon.

Canada are slight favourites on betting sites. That surprises me a bit

Final medal count (not including todays hockey game).
Holland and Norway really outperformed given the size of each country

I'd say Italy and to a lessor extent Japan had great Olympics relative to form.

That was a great 2nd period. 19 shots.

It was nice seeing Makar take a shot from a bit further out. Hellebuyk is so big it's hard to beat him from in close. The shooter has no angles.

I liked Mike Johnston's "double doink".

And I hate those dirty Tkaczuks.

Marchand must have mishandled the puck about 8 times so far.
