Cortina is on the World Cup Skiing Circuit.

The Dolomites are young mountains that jut up almost vertically, hikers flock to it in summer. Cortina rebuilt their ice palace from the ground up to host curling. In Italy it's more popular than hockey.
The Stelvio ski slope site of the downhill is quite risky and dangerous. As you noted, it's on the World Cup circuit. It's the real deal.

The downhill is one of the most exciting events. NBC knows how to pump the drama and excitement for all its worth.

2022 Canada Olympic medal count in Beijing

G: 4
S: 8
B: 14
Total: 26

That was a pretty impressive total medal count, good for 4th place. I'd like to see a few more golds this time around. As host country, Italy is definitely looking for a better showing than the 2-7-8: 17 they got 4 years ago.

Couch Fornicator Guy was brutally derided at the hockey arena. Btw both hockey rinks are to NHL standards.

Btw who's Taint McRae and why is everyone shatting on him.

Bormio-Cortina ski circuit is not as death defying as Crans Montana. Trump has the world record for the downhill.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm very impressed with the aerial views they give and the camera angles. What a beautiful site this is. The skiing scenery is out of this world and very beautiful.

In years past, I've never paid much attention to the Winter Olympics… But this year I'm leaving my channel there. I'm not changing it. I am all about CBC right now lol.

CBC Olympic Anchor Adrienne Arsenault wet herself while Andrea Bocellismo sang Nessuna Dorma. You could see it on her face in the earlier video I posted. She was not alone, Bocelli has that effect on women.

There is no comparison between the scenic beauty and vistas of Alpine towns and villages in Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, nestled in valleys surrounded by majestic mountains versus major cities that host Olympics both in winter and summer.

These alpine locations evoke a time and a place of long ago when wonderlands still existed both in the physical and emotional realms.

And let's not forget Lillehammer in Norway, the village-est of the Olympic winter wonderland villages.

When watching the vistas of Bormio and Cortina, they transport me to a younger and simpler age and I am in awe of the wonder of it all.

Did you guys notice the drones following the downhill skiers or the speed skaters? The drone drivers must be really good to follow them lose like that.

I was in Cortina back in the early 60's. Just for a stop on the bus tour through Switzerland and Italy. My mom's present to me and my sister. It was, as you say, incomparable. It was the late summer early fall. I would have loved to go back, James Bond style a few year later and have ski holidays and romance. I didn't. I did see a documentary which totally shed a new light onto another side of the place. Mountain side battles between the Austrian and Italian forces. Dug into cliffs right above each other. Funny how humans manage fo fuck up paradise. Every time.
