There is an app for your phone called Vivino .... you can scan a bottle and it will tell you all about it. Gives consensus reviews to help you make choices etc. I haven't used it yet but if you don't know wine at least it's something.

Go Aussie or go home...lol. Wolf Blass reds (shiraz) or whites (chardonnay), if you want sauvignon blancs go kiwi and try oyster bay.

Ok red for Turkey see if you can find Ravenswood Red Zinfandel from California. Nice spicy hint not too bold match well with turkey ham etc.

White I agree with the above Oyster Bay SB. It will have a grapefruit hint.

Or yes an Australian Chardonnay. Go unoaked.

Finally a great rose I found great price is Radio Boka from Spain. But get several bottles as it's an easy drinker, will be a hit with the ladies.

The above will take care of the wine people, and still please the casuals.

Let me know what they thought.

California big reds laced with Mega purple are in vogue.

If you're having steak, a Barolo Bussia is your answer. It was developed to go with Steak Florentine. Just let it breathe for a minimum of 10 minutes after uncorking.

If you're having seafood a German white from the Mosel Region is your ticket.

And, on the other side of the Patria, Amarone from Zenato. Alternatively, if the Barolo and Amarone are too heavy fo one's taste, there is nothing wrong with either a Ripasso or Nebbiolo from many producers.

I recently bought a bottle Campo Viejo (from Spain). Very nice red.
There are alot of goods wines at the LCBO from Spain that are excellent value because they are very under priced currently relatively to other similar quality wines places like France or Italy.

I find Red Zinfandel to be a bit too overpowering for Turkey. I kind of stick to Sauvignon Blanc (not New Zealand) and Riesling. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc will work, but I prefer SB without the pronounced grapefruit notes. Perhaps some SB with lemony notes instead.

Spanish and Chilean wines are cheaper, but they also tend to focus on grapes and methods that produce the most volume for the lowest price. There are some very good Chilean Cabs, but most of the stuff to hit North America is the cheaper, quick to the bottle variety.

I generally like white wine with turkey. Only white wine I'll drink is Chardonnay. Australia and California on average produce the best ones. Mondavi, Beringer, Jacob's Creek. Inniskillen is pretty good too.
If you're going to offer red I'd go more mellow with a Merlot or Chianti. I don't like Merlot's much Chianti - so many good ones.

The biggest indicator of climate change is Spanish wine. The Iberian Peninsula has become drier over time resulting in more tannic wine. However their Cava (Spanish prosecco) is excellent, goes great with tapas.
