This is sort of new...usually it's whether or not Mac can play Windows' programs. hehehe

Ok, I have yet to hear of any incidence of Vista playing Mac programs and I'm pretty familiar with the Mac situation.

It will play software such as iTunes and Quicktime but I doubt much else and those are Windows' versions of Mac software in a sense. What programs were you looking for anyways?

It does not have the APIs or framework to play OSX programs.

LOL! You used PageMill too?

Ok, those will definitely not work in Vista. I'd strongly suggest looking into alternative programs that will do what you want them to do on the Windows Vista platform.

The real problem is that the mid-level webdesign programs are sort of gone now. These days you either have high-end stuff such as Dreamweaver or low-end products...not sure what they would be on the Windows side.

Why? are you a webdesigner? I'm trying to get into the biz. I heard about SwishMax. I'm going to try that. But I'm gonna try to include the aid of the other programs I used to use.

Isn't there a program that will translate macintosh programs into a windows operatin system?

No, I'm also thinking about going back into this area. I have a diploma in webdesign and e-commerce from a few years back but got sidetracked.

I asked the pros what they would consider and, this is from the Mac side, they suggested a good text editor, Photoshop (you ABSOLUTELY have to have this or GIMP), a good ftp program (free ones that do the job are easier to find on the Windows' side than Mac side), and a Flash program such as Adobe Flash or I guess you could use SwishMax but I've never heard of it.

But, it's not the software and hardware, it's the skillset that makes it all happen.

And, no, there is no program to translate Mac programs into Windows' ones.
