Windows Defender Antivirus question

Just got windows 10

Is this enough protection or should I buy Norton?

I don't have problems with it since the beginning, Microsoft improved their antivirus since essentials and I got all kinds of stuff on my computers and visit all kinds of websites

It is pretty good.
No need to get anything else.

Along with that you can use Adblock/Scriptsafe like extensions to kill some browser (Chrome/Firefox) based scripts.

My personal laptops both have Adblock Plus, Defender and a registered/paid version of MalwareByte and I've never had an issue

Defender, CCleaner and Malwarebytes are all i use. never a problem. all free

I had the same question when I upgraded to Windows 10. I did some research and the consensus among the credible experts online was that you don't need additional antivirus so long as you keep Java and any other software you use updated. If you're someone who never updates anything then you may want antivirus. On the bright side, Win10 auto updates so that's no longer an issue.

I've been running for at least 2 years now with no problems whatsoever (but I keep things updated). In fact, I've actually had fewer crashes since I got rid of McAfee since antivirus software often creates a lot of its own problems.

Never had a problem with it. I also have a free version malwarebytes.

Me too, forgot to mention that. Malwarebytes (freeware) has caught some stuff Windows Defender didn't. I only run it every couple months and it only finds something a few times a year so Windows Defender is doing a pretty good job.

Never a problem with defender, back on windows 7 got a virus with Norton. Ran windows on safe mode and defender took care of it.

Also found Norton and Mac slowed my system down, plus it often didn't work with every program.

Down side to defender is you don't get any assistance, but there are plenty of YouTube videos if you ever have an issue.
