I quit using IE many years ago.
You are better off downloading and using Firefox, Opera or Chrome browsers.
How do you download Firefox, Opera or Chrome browsers? Are they free?

P.S. I right clicked on My Computer and this is all the info it shows for my computer.

Agreed.
Time to buy a new PC that will come with W7 pre-installed.

Firefox, Opera and Chrome browsers are free.
Opera and Chrome will run faster on that old PC than IE.

Thanks. I just installed FireFox. Hope it works ok.
You only have 128MB ram. You need a minimum of 512MB for XP and 1024MB for Windows 7!

If you go to MY COMPUTER -> View System Information is should show what CPU you have.

You can also download CPU-Z which tells you everything about your computer hardware.

You would be much better off installing Ubuntu or Linux Mint (Google them) and installing one of these operating systems on your older model computer. Free, and no anti-virus needed.

Windows 7 will not have hardware drivers for a box this old.

This thread has been a real eye opener. I never realized that my old P.C. is so underpowered. Please keep the advice and comments coming.

New PCs are not that expensive. Had a 40 yr old LF who was complaining about her old desktop about as old as yours. She thought a new PC would cost a lot. Told her last yr to get a PC identical to this, Compaq Presario CQ5600Y Desktop & 18.5" LCD Monitor Package. She only needed the tower and paid $300 for it back then. It was 10X faster than what she had and has been very happy with it since.
