Windows 10 ... Worth it ?

Microsoft did something unspeakably evil to my computer yesterday.
A million times for the past year, it asked me if I wanted to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and every time I said no.

But in the last week it stopped asking me if I wanted to upgrade to windows 10 and simply announced that in 30 minutes windows 10 would start to download.
I kept stopping it before it went ahead and doing this; but, yesterday I was away from my computer for a couple of hours and while I was away it just went ahead and "upgraded the computer", without asking me first.

The problem with windows 10 is you can't get your favorites in a column on the left side when in explorer.
This makes the entire operating system worthless junk to me.
I'm going to have to format the hard drive now and reinstall windows 7.

No you don't. There is a "restore my previous version" function as long as you do it within 30 days. I've used it to restore a friends system a month or so ago.

Are you referring to "system restore"? I tried this when I switched from Windows 7 to XP (don't ask why) and then tried to go back to Windows 7 again and it didn't work. Plus, I lost all my data.

No, not system restore, that is something different. I'm referring to restore previous version of Windows. I believe it is in system tools, or administrative tools or something like that. Try and Google it.

Thanks for that bit of information.
When I looked into it there was indeed a "revert to windows 7" option there and I used to to reset my compter to what it was 24 hours earlier with windows 7.
Then I deleted the KB503303 download from Microsoft which triggers the Win 10 software install and then shut off windows update feature so MS can't pull off this stunt again.
Windows 10 also couldn't work with my nvidea video card so the whole thing was a non starter for me.

Glad you got your system back! Like I said before, unless it's a brand new system, best to stick to Win 7.0, disable updates, and remove WAT

What's nvidea? Chinese knock off?

Win10 has better support for Nvidia than Win7 does
You are correct sir, in your amusing Teejayistical mocking derision, sarcastic way , the correct spelling is nvidia. I guess you're still pissed off at me because I wasn't a great fan of St. Huberts chicken. I'm sorry I offended something you love so much and hold near and dear to your heart.

All i know is Windows 10 said there was a problem with video card and video graphics to monitor literally collapsed a couple of times and system restarted itself.
But, I don't care anymore since I have my beloved windows 7 back, which I think is a great operating system, which doesn't need to be 'improved' upon.
Peace out bro.

I suspect we'll wake up one day and find out that Microsoft announced they will no longer support Windows 7 and stuff like Studiotax won't install on Win 7 but only Win 10.

Too sensitive

Original post still stands though; your video chip has far better support in Win10
Doesn't mean you had no issues, but they were not directly related
