In a deep, but well lit, hole
Alana

Unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me that the Posh venue isn't accessible. Like I said at the beginning of this thread, just try to find an accessible restaurant in the entertainment district other than Alice Fazooli's.

Alana, your extraordinary effort to include EVERYONE is appreciated more than you can imagine. I am first and foremost a pragmatist, but these sincere offers of help and kindness have really motivated me to try to get out and attend this or another event. Whatever works out at Posh, I am inspired by this outpouring of support and I never use the word "inspired" unless it's followed up with sarcasm.

Keep us updated and Thank You.

Re: Alana

Alana,

I could come in my manual chair. It would just mean I would need a human motor -teehee. Since my needs are high I was just trying to cut down on the amount of help by being in my electric chair that's all. Let me know what's best.

Alana and Angelina I know you are trying your best to find venues for SV events. Unfortunately Toronto isnt as accessible as other cities in the world. I admire your efforts to make all people who want to come to these events welcome and comfortable. been to two events already and I think im developing a reputation of being a bad boy and there is nothing wrong with that ;)

I've been working hard on finding and listing all the clubs and venues that are wheelchair accessable.

Angelina ;)
You won't find a listing hun.. Toronto did have one but it was dropped a number of years back. It never did include 'adult' venues anyhow.

On my site I'll put the "Accessibility Design Guidelines" that Toronto expects venues to follow just in case you get a venue that wants to be accessible but doesn't know how to do it. Give me a day or 2. It'll be under "General links".

Hi fellow Treb members,

Due to a very recent health issue [last night] I won't be travelling for a long time.

To those who volunteered, I thank you.

I would ask SV to keep looking for accessible places and even though I live in London Ont., I'll help as much as I can.

If this current health issue, does clear up fast I'll let you all know.

Trust me, nobody is more pissed off about this than me.

Re: Willing to help? update

Hi fellow Treb members,

Here is an update...I have decided to go to the Aug. 15 SV party.

SV..The help that I have found has a fair size boat so I will give them your URL and they will contact you directly to deal with any details[docking and so on].

As far as access...Its ok if I can only access the 1st level by my wheelchair. Depending on the design of the party boat, You may be able to transfer me to a lawn chair and tie me down with a couple of belts. Again I would never force someone to transfer me. I can't make a final decision until I see the party boat.

This is not final yet. I'll update you.
