has been improving thanks to revisionists.

That was due to corruption and the Tea Pot Dome scandal. I don't think any of that has gone away. Trends come and go in historiography, but Grant was a mediocre 1-term president. I'm not aware of "revisionists" changing that.

Then the Democrats started to do that...resulting in a massive switch of both party's stances. While there were Dixie-crats and what not, they switched to become GOP members, especially in the south. So, today, it's the Democrats who are for black rights while the GOP cling to white supremacy.... And don't for a second pretend the GOP cares about black people. They go out of their way to disenfranchise them or repress them in some fashion. So, fuck that shit.
