Your place!!
Do Americans coming over to Canada, make up that large a segment of the Escorts Clients compared to home grown Canadians? Just wondering. I can't really see where they would have that great an impact on the Industry.

Exchange rates fluctuate, nobody should be getting unduely excited over this. If I was a cash business, I'd still be offering at least 15% and holding on to those US$ because I would eventually get it back.

I can't believe it would be worth somebody's while to go through the expense of travelling here just to save 15% on a $120 half hour?

If somebody did come here just to hobby, I'd think it would have more to do with the added discretion and annonymity of being outisde their country, or because they live in a place where the choices are very limited due to low volume or lack of ethinic diversity.

The higher dollar might make regular business travellers scale back on booking that high-end companion type, or visiting an upscale SC or MP. But for those who come from towns where the local hobby scene is dead or too risky, $20-$30 isn't going to be a determining factor.

As for rising enegry costs, soaring debt, sagging US$ and increasing border hassles...well, don't complain here, we didn't pick your president and we can't change it for you.

Q) guess who's currently the largest demographic of people buying up waterfront on Canada's Lake Superior shorelines?

A) Decamillionaire americans.

Canada is a great place to invest for Americans regardless of the dollar. be it escorting, cottages, or for deer hunting, etc..

I wondered the same thing...so i posted this poll

Its not a perfect rule...
And the poll leaves out those who drive because they are visiting several locations in the Niagara Frontier - Greater Golden Horseshoe or who fly to Buffalo because it is less expensive and then drive.

That and the extremely signifact fact that outcall is legal in Canada.

True sooner or later it will come back around.

perhaps not that, but 30 percent on $250 is a significant amount.

Another braindead American trying to overstate their importance to the world. No sp's have commented in this thread so I don't think they're too worried. Stay down there and fuck your 300 pounders, there are plenty to choose from.

It's not just the laws, but also the attitude of the public and the LE.

I'll bet there are dozens of cities in the US where aggressive entrapment and sting operations are major quarterly (or even monthly) projects.

I don't believe that price is a determining factor for Americans hobbying here for two reasons.

- if hobbying at home was an option, even a 0.65 dollar wouldn't justify the costs of making the trip, unless you had other reasons to travel to Toronto.

- for those who's main focus is money, Canada was never attravtive to begin with. Those people would go a country where the exchange rate was something like 1:10, 1:20 or 1:50 in their favour, so they could get a weeks worth of action, accomodation and food for the price of one weekend in Canada.

Dollar at Par

With the dollars at almost par, it hurts a little more coming from the States. I know that I wouldn't mind a discount to get my business. I don't think some of the better reviewed, and more established ladies will budge their prices just to compensate the lack of traffic.
Heck, it might even free some of them up, so that we might be able to see them, instead of being shut out due to being booked up!
If prices dropped, and they visited Niagara Falls, that might perk up business.

Bang on. Canadians are all dirt poor and have no sexual desire... the escort industry will die without you.... save us.
Where there are hard members, there is business! Millions of men around the world tonight are horny without a cure. Horniness does not wait for better exchange rates LOL Sex sells, no matter what.... and good/great/fantastic sex sells even better!

I think a lot of American's liked coming to Canada for SP's because a) we are friendly and mostly down to earth b) we give great service at great rates..... (from what I hear a lot of the US girls charge extra for everything, every position, every act and that is even if you get what they were advertising for) AND c) there is a lot more to choose from and a lot of diversity in Canada :)

Canadian Retailers are slow to adjust prices to be competitive with the US... ie, Honda Civic costs 4g's more in Canada, a birthday card costs 30% more, etc..

Instead of passing on the savings, Canadian companies have reported record profits as the loonie soars.

These stubbornly high prices pack a double-whammy because they help fuel inflation, causing the Bank of Canada to openly warn it may need to raise interest rates. BMO Chief economist Porter warns, "Mortgage Interest rates WILL see north of 10% by 2010." he goes on to say inflation is becoming uncontrollable in a low interest rate environment... gas and utilities have already increased the cost of living for all... now the CPI is getting out of control.

That's gonna be fun for all those mortgaged to the tilts...

A $200,000 mortgage presently locked in at 5% with a 25yr amortization carries payments of just over $1100/mth presently.
That same mortgage when it comes up for renewal in 2011 could easily jump up the payments to $1817/mth!!! and that's only at 10%... Porter's looking to see a return of interest rates seen in the 1970's.

I wonder how difficult it will be for how many families to pay their mortgages in only 4 more years when their payments will increase by 65%???

I am still glad to be a renter as my landlord can't raise my monthly shelter cost more than 2.6%... Definitely alot less risk of an investment than a potential 65+% increase.

New report in from the Montreal market...seems some agency's are trying to get together and raise rate's from $160 to $180, possibly trying to test the market for an increase to $200. Dont think the agency owners will be able to carry it off though...too much competion for the ladies to be cooperating with each other.

If it does go up and the exchange rate keeps on going down, might have to plan more trips to Germany.

get a grip. the Dollar is high largely because Canada is viewed internationally as a favoured place to invest in. period.
We can never be satisfied, can we? I personally am happy that Canadian currency is doing well, but I'm no economist here. Mostly patriotism speaking. :p

Hi,

I think the whole tone of this post is that the Canadian Dollar is "Going Up". It's not Canada that is dropping it is the USA. The last time the Canadian and US dollars were at par was in the early 1970's when the USA was losing in 'Nam.

Now the USA is getting creamed in the Middle East and has lost control of its national boarders. I would guess the USA dollar has a lot farther to fall. I expect it to peak at $2.00 US dollars for one Canadinan Dollar. The only thing that Could save the USA now is a crushing military defeat of the Insurgents in Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan and Iran. 'Aint gonna happen unless the USA goes massively nuclear.

SO look out below, the USA currency is gone.

Thought I was reading the back cover of a sci-fi book there for a second! Very interesting scenario indeed.

Am I the only one that finds this douchebag's posts incredibly offensive? Or is it perhaps that I am the only one that reads his trash? Ignore feature about to get used again.
