I dont like religious sources either, but they did make a really good point that there's a double-standard. If a male reporter had done that to some actress all hell would break loose.

The way I understand is that it doesn't take much of a stretch of the
definition of homophobia to make a case of Will Smith being a homophobe
out of this incident. Based on the pontification from gay right activists
I was fed with in my student years a man can be deemed homophobic
if he shows any hints of uneasiness towards mere thoughts of gay sex
as well as physical contact with gay men. And this is from a time long
before gay pride becomes as sweeping a force of political correctness
as it is today. By this definition I could pass as a homophobe if I try to
stay away from an approaching gay man. Will Smith might not enjoy the
uninvited kiss but he shouldn't feel disgusted by it.
Will Smith should have dropped down to the ground screaming "I need an Adult" over and over at the top of his voice and repeat at lower and lower volume and then just curl into the fetal position and start sobbing like a little bitch.
