If a gay male friend of mine tried to kiss me on the lips as opposed to someone I don't know from a hole in the ground, my reaction would be completely different between a friend and a stranger.

What would happen if black person grabbed and, without consent, kissed a white woman? Would anyone care if she slapped the guy, or kicked him in the crotch... pepper spray.... called 911?

I wouldn't want to get kissed by any man in my life on the lips because I am straight and not homophobic. It is my preference and Will Smith was absolutely a gentleman by not knocking him out!
screw all of you calling Will a homophobic.. Just because the world has gotten more tolerant towards gays and their rights, doesn't mean a straight guy needs to start kissing gays for fear of being called a homophobe. I have no hatred towards gays, infact support their cause whole heartedly, but this is one area that gets on my nerves regarding this whole gay rights issue.
In ordinary circumstance, I'd think Will over reacted because he's in Europe, where people tend to be more open about greeting each other with a kiss. Perhaps, it might've been a misunderstanding where the two men were trying to move their heads around and it made it seem like the reporter nearly kissed him in the mouth. However, the reporter was clearly violating Will's space. He had his hands firmly gripping Will's neck, hugging and going in for a kiss like a gf/bf would. Let's not forget, Will is a big celebrity. Anyone of that stature would've been alarmed when some random reporter comes so close to you and grabs you by the neck etc. The reporter is lucky he didn't get a body slam from one of Will's bodyguards.
