And that makes Canada unique in the world? Look at Russia where several regions have been fighting to get out, some have, and more want to. Look at the India and Pakistan where internal strife continues among regions and tribes, look at Italy where the North has hated the south, and vice versa, for hundreds of years and want to kick them out, look at the numerous African countries that have so much civil unrest, many South American countries as well, and dare I bring up the middle east where they shoot and bomb eachother just a few miles away.

There are too many countries to count around the world where people hate eachother from other regions and are hodgepots throughtout the country, that's the way of the world.

Canada is a relatively new country and these other countries around the world have been around for hundreds of years and still have similar problems. Canada is doing Ok and having travelled to almlost 100 countries around the world, we don't really know how good we have it here until you see the rest of the world.

Sure there are countries that have less cohesion than Canada, but that
should be cold comfort. You can always find something worse.

Yesterday I just read all the posts here, and there was so much venom against
other regions, especially Quebec. Most posters will not accept that the
elected mp's from Quebec can participate in federal politics. WTF????

As many here know, I come from Scandinavia, which once (long time ago)
was a similar incohesive area as Canada. Greater Denmark included sweden,
Norway, parts of Poland, Iceland, Faro Islands, even at some time parts of England.

In modern times, there exist instead in Northern Europe a multitude of cohesive, "natural" countries with each it's own cultural and territorial distinctiveness. The scandinavian countries are all independent, but has free movement of goods and people, no passport control etc etc, They even own an airline together. But please don't tell a dane that he is a swede or a swede that he is norwegian.

In conclusion, I don't believe it is in anybody's interest to keep peoples,
who want to be separate, together in one country.

I apologize if I have offended anyones feelings. However, I never post racist or
otherwise denigrating comments about other regions or groups of people in Canada.

what you actually said was this:

Due to immigration patterns Ontario will be a 3rd world shithole soon enough. The other provinces might want to separate well before that happens to contain the cancer.
You said immigration patterns were turning Ontario into a third world shithole. You didn't say anything about culture or lame gov't. So yeah when I hear a racist statement I think the person making it is a racist. Sorry if I hurt your feelings- have a latte and cookie.

At least you managed to understand Something.

Silly me, I thought that by saying 3rd world shithole I was implying a decrease in the quality of governance, culture & personal responsibility. I never thought that a bulwark of Pussy Liberalism such as yourself would think to take it racially..... but you did. Shame on you.

red said:

Again, you did NOT hear a racist statement. Elitist, perhaps, but YOU are the one promoting the idea of racism here.

Let me spell it out for you cupcake: I believe the weak should be cared for so long as it has zero impact on the progress of the strong.

Call me elitist or classist, & I won't be able to deny it. Call me a fan of eugenics & social hygiene & I'll thank you for noticing.

Call me racist or a nazi...... & the only person you're labeling is yourself, as a fool.
I actually went out of my way to explain my leanings to you in very simple little words. Did you not read it? If you did, what's with your droning on & on about racism?

Do you so desperately want it to be racism because that's the only concept you understand well enough to put on a show of indignity?

What is it about the concept of disliking people for their personal & cultural shortcomings that is so bad that you would Rather see disliking people based on race?

You ave DEMONSTRATED they you fixate on race far more than I. YOU'RE A RACIST... how about that?

red said:

You don't think at all. If you actually thought for yourself you might have READ the repeated times I have explained what I said & if it was too complex for you LOOK UP THE DEFINITIONS OF THE WORDS YOU THROW AROUND.

red said:

You're Not sorry & even if you were you would be sorry that your idiocy was publicly pointed out, certainly not because you are an intolerant ignoramus that doesn't the meanings of the big words he throws at others to that he can feel like a white knight for pussy libs everywhere.

As I said before, your simplistic labeling is obviously due to you total inability to grasp anything more complex than a slogan.

Funny. I had you more pegged as a "You want fries with that" type of guy.

Actually IT IS a pun. You made a play on words referencing Few Good Men I Believe.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pun

pun (pn)
n.
A play on words, sometimes on different senses of the same word and sometimes on the similar sense or sound of different words.
intr.v. punned, pun·ning, puns
To make puns or a pun.
[Origin unknown.]
punning·ly adv.
pun
Noun
the use of words to exploit double meanings for humorous effect, for example my dog's a champion boxer
Verb
[punning, punned]
to make puns [origin unknown]

Seriously.... your lack of understanding when it comes to the meaning of words will severely handicap your weak attempts to conduct a battle of words with anyone.......... Just as your weak understanding of concepts hinder you with everything else.

You really just spew out things you've half understood & hope no one will notice don't you. AGAIN, typical lame liberal S.O.P.

Easy now mexi. I'm quite certain red knows what a pun is. Check his posting history. Half of his 12K posts are puns.

Not very good ones, but puns just the same. :p

That's even WORSE. He's willing to lie to himself just to keep up a contrary stance even he should know is bullshit by now. Typical Liberal non accountability. so long as they stick to the talking points & dogma with passion.... they'll Never be wrong because the truly enlightened needn't confine themselves with such things as demonstratable fact. It's always someone else's fualt anyway.

He keeps droning on about the racist angle despite it being spelled out to him why he was wrong. Were a reasonable person would change tack & go after my elitist leanings, he doesn't because to do so would be implying that he was somehow wrong.

explain the pun then in the phrase "did you order the code red". Take a look at your own example- "My dog is a champion boxer" the play on words is in the word boxer- referencing both the breed and the sport. Got it tough guy?

I've got the solution for you guys to keep Canada together. Simply fight a horrible bloody civil war that kills off a million people or so, displaces millions more, and squash any seperatist nonsense to where anyone would think twice before ever considering it again. Worked for us. Granted there might be a little cleaning up to do afterwards.

I am not nor have ever been a member of the liberal party. or any political party.

If you knew my posting history you will see I admit when I am wrong, which is often. In your case I don't think I am wrong. Not sure what that has to do with liberals, elitism or the fact that you don't understand what a pun is.

It would never come to that. Our situation is much different than you faced in the Civil War.

The Quebecers who want separation would never fight for it. The vast majority are cowards who at the first sign of conflict would take off running. It's much easier (and safer) to whine and complain than it is to actually stand up for their "principles".

A Quebec separatist is one who finds comfort in being a pain in the ass. Put a weapon in his hand and tell him to fight for his beliefs and he'll be singing "O Canada".

i think thats a bit much to call the whole province cowards- they have sons and daughters fighting in afghanistan and there has been many quebecker which have fought honourably for this great country of ours. The issues which are in dispute with quebec are, like most political issues in Canada, small and not really worth fighting about. For that, we should all be thankful.

Ok, Your handle is RED.

"did you order the code red" sure sounds like a pun.

If that wasn't your intention tem I'm sorry I attributed to you what little verbal skill I saw evidence of.

Actually, what is really interesting is how you STILL find it necessary to stick with a label that has been explained to you ad nauseum doesn't apply in this situation.

I haven't TRIED to turn this into anything. I have merely SUCCEEDED through using your own clumsy words against you tht you are a narrow minded fool. The fact tht this not so small point has gone completely over your pinead is what is REALLY interesting.

Well, here's an opportunity to admit where I was wrong. I apologise for calling you a Liberal. I didn't realize that your understanding of the word Liberal was limited to simply the name of a Canadian Political Party. Considering the numerous examples of both your narrow mindedness & your lck of laguge skills I should have known better.

Please explain why I am a racist & why you think I don't understand what a pun is.
You've dug a hole for yourself so deep tht I can almost lose sight of you.... Please finish. ;)

:D So much for the kinder gentler you...lol.

This raises an interesting point that we don't discuss much - what does Gilles hope to get out of this and how does he rationalize acting in a truly federal capacity as part of the 3 stooges ?

So if Celine and Jacko both drown in the public trough would that make Gilles PM ?

red, it's not like you to put words in people's mouth or to experience comprehension issues.

I never said the whole province was cowards, I said the separatists were cowards. By last count that works out to 49% of the province.

To the brave men and women from Quebec who are in our military fighting for our country, I say thank you!

I think anyone reading your posts would believe you were referring to the political party and not a political philosophy. Perhaps it is your poor speeling which is leading to the many misunderstandings in your life.

I would also suggest that someone is believes in eugenics is likely to be more narrow minded than someone who is liberal.
