Trump really believes Rudy is the best lawyer ever and that he's got an elite strike force legal team.
I don't think he believes that. It's just difficult to put together a group of villains, particularly when they must be lawyers who usually care about keeping license to practice law. Especially after a whole bunch of his old buddies went to jail and it's pretty clear where this is going in a basket.
The lawyers won't believe it, I agree.

I don't think that he believes that he has any serious chance of reversing it other than perhaps his hope for a hail Mary in the SCOTUS. More likely he is doing it to cement the sense of grievance for his base in anticipation of remaining in control of the party and for his personal gain with some media enterprise. He is raising a lot of money from this and it will wind up in a PAC that he controls. They will probably spend a lot of time and money in his hotels but that is another matter.

if you put connect the way he works, Ukraine call is the same. i am surprise as history will be very bad for this POTUS. i just don't know what his end game is. i know it is financial for him. will this create that grievance so he can talk about this on his cable network for the next four year. there is speculation that he will do rally for a fee.
Whatever his endgame you can be sure it involves money and self-aggrandizement. I believe that history will show him to be the worst president in at least rent history. To his acolytes' that will make no difference and they will blame it on the media or the deep state or some other bogey man. To them he will always be the second coming.
