Why the hell would you be in Iraq!

As reported in most news services... a lot of Canadians in Iraq are in fact 'new' Canadians. They are Iraq or other Middle East born and have since become Canadians and then return to Middle East for buisiness or family reasons.Back Burner said:I know this sounds stupid but if you’re a Canadian Citizen, why the hell would you be there?

Well getting out is just what the thugs who are doign the kidnapping want... they want services to fall apart, so more people become unhappy, so that more people cause trouble, and the occupation becomes more difficult for the Americans.
The guerillas typically target infrastructure that benefits Iraqis on the theory that if ordinary Iraqi's are happy and well looked after then the resistance is doomed. So they wind up hurting their own people a lot... and part of that is hurting foreigners who came to help.
If they really succeed they'll throw the country into a terrible messa nd a lot of people will suffer. I guess some aid workers and such just don't want to see that much suffering, and risk their lives to help.

Most people are from editing countries that I quoted earlier and have to be quarantined at some point. Even the NY times editor was quoted as saying so.
