I was the same, for twenty years it was come and go and a few regulars.
About 18 months ago I met someone who changed my whole world. We both say I love you and it is meant in so many ways.
We are in a hybrid type relationship, I’ve met friends and family and so has she with mine.
She’s called me cying looking for that shoulder and I’ve returned that with my very own troubled thoughts to her listening ear!
So loving a provider is no different than loving anyone else, you have your reasons and it’s amazing!

What’s also made a lasting impression on me is getting to know her—not just her alter ego in this industry, but the smart, ambitious, driven person behind the persona. I’ve been fortunate to meet some incredibly sharp professionals through this journey, and it’s reminded me to never judge a book by its cover.
I find myself drawn to people with vision, passion, and purpose. While we all need to earn a living, she strikes a rare balance: she’s fair and reasonable when it comes to rates, values building a long-term arrangement, and consistently shows appreciation for that loyalty. That’s not something I take for granted.
Ultimately, she’s my ATF because I genuinely enjoy being around her. We have real conversations, we share laughs, and we’ve even gone on social dates where there are no expectations—just two people spending quality time together. There’s a mutual respect that goes beyond the typical provider-client dynamic.

For me its is simple - she becomes my ATF the moment I realize that I no longer need to say anything - the comfortability of silence.....and the fact that she truly wants to be where she is at that moment in time.

Unfortunately I didn’t even know my ATF was one until it was all over and then the sadness made me realize what I had.
She was simply awesome, and crossed that line I had always so easily enforced between my hobby life and civvy life. We became friends. I enjoyed the almost weekly text chats about life, gave her advice about things and helped her out here and there as long as it was able. Circumstances made me her last client of the night so I often drove her home after her shifts at the club and we stopped for snacks or coffee on the way. It always felt very natural. She would relay her stories about work or school to me and sometimes shared love letters from other clients. Funny how she crawled into my heart over such ordinary things.
At the time when I was booking with her regularly I was also seeing other providers who treated me well, which was why I didn’t think she was my ATF but after she (and the others)retired I only miss her. Thus she’s in a class of one.

Great question. For me it's about 1a. Connection / Chemistry and 1b. "My Type" (i have a preference towards mature (30s/40s) brunettes, D Cup, Athletic, hold a great conversation, and make it feel like we're long lost lovers).
