I don't understand why the clubs are so boring in Barrie. It is such a booming city... I know of 4 girls from Barrie that commute down to either CB or WAGG to work because they say its too slow in Barrie. Why is this? It's just too bad, cause, after a hard days work, the last thing I wanna do is drive for a freakin hour to go to the CB to see Barrie talent...

This all started last year in the summer when they outlawed smoking in all public places. Before that the SC's were always packed. Barrie has always been pretty dead due to clubs being very strict in regards to touching no vip areas etc . pretty hard for a dancer to make a decent buck at 10 bucks a dance because most guys dont like the open view policies they simply dont bother thats also why a lot of Barries dancers go to the big smoke.

A lot of "local" Barrie girls go to the "Big Smoke" so they aren't dancing at "home". A lot of Toronto area girls (CB, Loco, MDS, or Oshawa, Richmond Hill, Brampton etc) come to Barrie to work, and dance for $20. This has been happening for years. Barrie has gone in cycles over the years with lean times and good times(nothing to do with the government). Barrie has VIP areas, has had VIP areas that got busted for "touching" and actual sex taking place in the SC.
What is hurting the SCs is the no smoking bylaw, but the girls keep coming to Barrie from Toronto, because I still get asked for dances from a dozen or more girls every time I'm in the club.

personally i don't disagree with the smoking by-law, but i do see how it affects business. the funny thing is, a lot of people complain about the amount of smoke in bars like the CB. so go figure..?
it still doesn't make sense... in California and Nevada (i'm sure all over the US), you'll see exciting strip clubs that don't have smoking, some don't allow drinking, some don't allow nudity or contact... doesn't affect business.
even in Calgary at the speakeasy, there is NO one on one dance of any kind- that place still rocks...

whether the world wants to accept it or not,....there will always be smokers. If people dont like it, they need to stay out of the bar scene and find some other curricular activity to piss their time away. Smoking cigarettes is not illegal, and as long as they are being sold off the shelf in variety stores and gas stations, people are gonna smoke!
Hence this non-smoking by-law crap is not gonna last long anyways. Someone soon will get some balls by stepping forward and getting all the bars in Barrie together to fight this ridiculous law. Once businesses really start to feel the burn and the loss of their profits, then thats when the crap will really start to hit the fan.
