I saw a fucking gypsy bitch at the door to the Sherway Walmart with some bullshit storyboard. I had seen another cocksucker gypsy guy with the same style of wriiting/different story at the Home Depot next door. I calmly told the woman that I was calling the police and going to LIE and say she has a knife on her and that I saw her threaten someone. and that I saw her partner at Home Depot with a knife too. I took her picture and walked off into the store. She pulled out her phone to call someone and walked off. Left her sign!!! lol

I wanted her to know that her scam was done.

Sort of like this situation of organized scammers.

What is weird is that I just saw this happen two days ago and YouTube fed me this video tonight. 🤔 maybe those anti-vaxxers were right and Bill Gates planted a chip in my brain?

Saw 4 of them working all corners of a major intersection. Car pulls up ,guy gets out and whistles at them . They all gather their stuff and pile into the car. Probably driving off to another location.

I am proud of myself for saying something. In person, to a scammers face. If even just to save a few well meaning people from getting scammed out of the monmey they earned honestly and need to spend on their own food and clothing and that of their families. Good people can donate the same Loonie or toonie at the checkout instead of giving money to organized scammers infeting our malls and and street corners.

Honest working people go to Walmart to buy groceries and clothes for their families. I don't like their good natured generosity being used by predator scammers to take their hard earned money.

As for my "story ringing true". I am tired of fuckwits like you with a political or personal agenda calling people's honesty into question. So I've attached screenshots of my recent visits to THAT Home Depot and THAT Walmart. Please print them up and shove them up your sanctimonius, pedantic and ignorant ass and fuck off with calling me a liar.

As for the Canadian cartography lesson Mr. Thompson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Thompson_(explorer)

The Walmart I abbreviated to 'Sherway Walmart" is right across the street from Sherway Gardens. The Home Depot is 250 meters closer to Sherway Gardens than the Walmart. You knew what one i was talkng about so you're just being a dick.

Have a look at these maps you pedantic wannabe white knight. i'm sure the scammers are back (because i've seen them several times before) so you can rush over and make up with the temporary cash flow interruption I caused with your own money! 😜

And for every dollar donated at checkout, the store owner gets 17% as a tax credit on their personal Income Tax return, as if that money had come out of their own pocket. I consider that to be an organized scam.

I sometimes give money to people who are begging with a sign, but not if:

1) They say "Can I ask you a question?" first before asking for money. The first lesson of "bum school" is to get the mark to say 'yes' to something.

2) The guy who says "I'm not a bum", before asking for money.

3) Any guy begging in front of a beer store or LCBO. My standard reply is 'If you want ME to pay for your liquor, you've gotta have tits'.

4) Anybody begging in front of a grocery store, who asks people for money on the way in. I might give them some change, on the way out.

5) Anybody begging in the first half of any month.

6) Anyone begging from inside a car.

I'm more likely to give money to someone I know, someone who has a dog with them, or if they have a punk rock appearance.

Yup, I never give them or the ones who linger along the 400 series ramps and other intersections. It is an organized pigeon fleecing ring.

I thought that too. But I was wrong. Nobody gets any tax credit. Not the customer nor the store. That's why only donate directly to the particular charity I am supporting at the time. I get the tax receipt and the credit. And by donating directly, rather than through some organized event, there are no expenses related to the fundraising overhead.

Why nobody gets a tax benefit when you donate at the checkout
Customers who donate at cash registers don’t get a tax receipt, but neither do retailers

".....The practice is called point-of-sale fundraising, as the charitable donations are funnelled through retailers at the final point customers make their purchases.

All that extra change brings in big money for charities, but it does not give individual Canadians the same tax benefits as donating directly to charity without a cash register in between.

Nobody gets a tax receipt. Really!

In 2021, grocery chains Metro and Calgary Co-op collectively brought in more than $5.5 million for food banks, emergency shelters, cancer research and hospitals in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta.

So who gets to write all those donations off their income? Customers or retailers?

The correct answer, according to accounting and charity experts, is neither. When it comes to checkout philanthropy, in Canada, no one gets a tax benefit.

"The individual [customer] would need to donate directly to the charity to obtain a receipt," wrote Toronto-based chartered accountant Brian J. Quinlan in an email to CBC Radio's The Cost of Living.

"It would not be ethical for the grocery store to request a charitable receipt as it is not donating its own money."

There are other incentives for stores
In the absence of tax receipts, many Canadian retailers who ask for donations at the checkout have self-stated mandates to be good corporate citizens or community players.

However, Rotstein points out another reason stores team up with charities is for good marketing.

Retailers can leverage a charity's positive brand to promote their own outlet, which delivers good brand equity at a lower cost to the store than more traditional marketing. As well, customers are already at the checkout ready to spend money, so fundraising expenses are also lower....."

Yup. this sob-storyboard scam started in the states about 10 years ago. Cardboard signs homeless veterans, funerals, car accident bills, father's heart attack, sick baby....

It started up here a few tears ago on an individual basis, but now there are organized crews as other TERB members have observed themselves. Kind of like the organized White Van with 'extra' speakers for sale crews driving around mall parking lots. Somebody with a credit card is renting these vans and it ain't the scruffy low life drivers.

The gypsy aspect or bitch or cocksucker name calling word choice?

Short of a DNA test, I could clearly identify both as Roma Gypsies. It's a factual identification, not a racial epithet.

As for the bitch and cocksucker names. Sorry but I don't want to get banned for using stronger language to characterize these despicable human predatory scammers who stoop so low as to play on the sympathy and good natured trust that motivates normal people to give them money.

I'm open to your suggestions of what words I should have used to communicate my experience or feelings more appropriately.

I've seen one of those guys set up outside my local Sobeys in SouthEast Oakville on the weekends a few times. In addition to the sob-storyboard sign saying his family is in trouble, he "plays" an electric violin to a backing track on a speaker - he's probably faking it.

Occasionally they will send females to wander the parking lot asking customers if they want to buy perfume; I'd bet my left nut the perfume was stolen from Shoppers or Rexall.

I remember a young girl in San Diego who would always beg for food money at bus stops ... I offered to buy her a sandwich once instead and she cussed me out before hopping on the bus. Saw an article later and it looks like she died from a drug overdose.
I no longer offer charity to street people, it isn't worth the risk.
