That's absolutely true. On the list of complaints, we shouldn't forget the TTC's difficulties in getting people to their destinations on time. The subway system breaks down at least once a week.
Is it true that more often than not when there are delays on the subway that there's actually been a jumper or accident?

Thanks, I needed something to rant about!
I think the TTC is managed by the Big 3 auto makers. As long as transit service is bad enough, people will buy $50K cars and $1.00 gas, fight traffic, and pay for parking, rather than endure the overcrowding, rude personnel, late, slow service and dirty vehicles and facilities. Oh, did I leave out the junkies, drunks, criminals, psychos and juvenile delinquents?
As our roadways approach the saturation point, with no hope of expansion, we need to get drivers out of their cars and into the buses. We can expand transit, or we can built more expressways.
Ya know...sometimes it seems unfair that a lot of the traffic and transit space is taken by suburban commuters from 905 who aren't even paying taxes to the city of Toronto. Bunch of freeloaders getting a free ride on my tax dollars!

As for the low-floor buses, they have to either stop putting them on the busy routes, or else schedule more buses in order to compensate for the reduced capacity. Those things have turned out to be such a bad idea, they remind me of the Airbus and MDG scandals.

My newest pet peeve: this year, they have removed all the garbage receptacles from the subway platforms. The litter and dirt are going to get worse.

Are you really that ignorant? Have you looked at the NORTHBOUND DVP during morning rush hour lately? It's almost as backed up by people coming to the 905 to work as the southbound DVP.

And another heads up Sherlock. My business that I own in the 416 pays approx. 2.5 - 3 times the property tax that your house in the 416 does. So get off the roads that I'm paying 60 - 70% for until you get a clue.

It's a safety recommendation. TTC switch to clear bags for easy sorting & reduce risk of harzardous material left behind.
