Thanks for the heads up.

When travelling (by car to the U.S.) I already bring my own pillow, pillowcase, towels, soap and Ontario bottled water. I'll usually avoid the glasses, but certainly will do so after watching this.

I feel like I am going to be sick.

I guess I should just drink bottled liquids from now on when I stay at a hotel.

LOL that was funny actually, but if you think that is bad, look around for what happens to the pillows on airplanes....they NEVER get washed.....and here's a scary thought for you:

I was working in Denver once and flew back to Toronto. The day before I flew I got what I thought was an ingrown hair on my cheek. Didn't think anything of it at the time.

Flew home, had a pillow, slept most of the way.

Couple days after getting home, I had a crop of blemmies on my face and starting to spread down my neck. Someone at work said I should get it checked out because his sister was a nurse....so I went to the clinic and when the doc took a look he actually jumped back about a foot. He said it was shingles and I MUST get it covered immediately and take these $200.00 meds as it is HIGHLY contagious.

I thought, wtf are shingles (the only ones I knew keep the rain off my house) but he also recommended I get some T3s cuz it's going to hurt...and sure enough, they spread all across my cheek and neck and they hurt like a mofo..(anyone remembers David Letterman was out for a couple of weeks with them too).

Through the whole thing I was thinking, F man, what about the next 20 people that used my pillow on that flight?

The way I see it drinking from a hotel water glass is like eating an SP's snapper. You don't know how clean it is, or what was there before, but not alot of people have dies from it, so what the fuck!

Like this case of the dirty glasses... it isn't about greedy corporate honchos decreeing that the low life lazy irresponsible maids wipe the drinking glasses with the toilet cloth. It's about INDIVIDUALS NOT TAKING PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR BEING DECENT HUMANS.
That must be comforting for any CEO. They have no responsibility for
what their employees do, you say. But wait a minute, why are they there then?

as for hotel cups/glasses I have a girl who works with me she used to clean at hotels in the summer said they just wipped the glasses out with a towel sometimes even used towels, I asked her why they did that she said they only had 12 minutes per room to clean. I'd only use the ones that were wrapped in plastic.

See, this is what TERB is good for - passing on relevant information (not that the clothing thread doesn't have its moments). This shit never even occurred to me, and I travel a hell of a lot - off to Montreal today, was in Calgary last week and will be in Ottawa by the end of the month. Thanks for posting it.

This is truly disgusting. The video mentions contracting the "flesh eating bug", which i think is a scare-tactic, but some of the more common nasties like hepatitis are a real concern, especially when they showed the cleaner washing the cups with the same gloves on as she cleaned the toilet. BLECH!!

I'm going to pack plastic cups in my luggage right now.

Totally Ironic!!

The more expensive hotels have the impressive real glass glasses and the cheaper outfits like Days Inn and Motel Six have those low class disposable plastic cups you have to unwrap cause they are individually wrapped in plasic.

? While it doesn't make them any better or worse, they were both management. Stan Koebel was a town manager and his brother Frank was the foreman.
