Why doesn't the *(asterisk) work with the search function anymore?

I had a quick look...perhaps I just didn't see the answer...

But I can't seem to use the * (asterisk) to look for words less than 4 letters?

I remember it used to work a while ago?

Can anybody explain?

Thanks

No MACsnob here.

I can't even use the *(asterisk) to help look for an answer-thats irony

There definitely is something wrong with the search. For example, a search for eva* only returns seven topics. There have been many more topics than that that have mentioned Eva or Eva Escorts.

Show me the evidence ( post links for topics that do NOT come up in the search ) and we will investigate.

I should have used three letter word from this thread,..
But I typed in DVD* re: a thread someone else started

https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35239

That is two pages riddled with "DVD" and when I try DVD* in the search field, guess what,..

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms"

so I just don`t know what is wrong? but I see I am not the only one?

I just tried the "Sam*" search and came up with the same thread and this thread. The "*" is not working as a wildcard.
