Only times I've used the opening was during sex. You have a hell of a time getting a hard-on through that damn opening but once its out it gives a different kind of feeling at the base of the shaft during sex. It adds a certain tension or constriction if you will, similar to a ladies hand holding on but not limiting the stroke distance.

BTW I don't have white briefs I go for the various colors. I like briefs because of the support they offer. Why do women where a bra? Just let them hang all the time. Same thing (well maybe not quite). Sometimes its OK to let it hang; but I prefer the support. I have used the boxer-briefs as well; they're pretty comfortable.
