Why? I have a few friends in the industry who I know are doing exceptionally well, I have probably heard all the songs and dances, but it never ceases to amaze me when I get to know a girl, and she makes this similar claim.

Realistic, higher income means more spending power. The point is money is liquid - able, and intelligent thought dictates putting something away for the future when customers stop coming in as much, so one can have a future for themselves.
