Why do some posters go out of their way to target others?

I hope everyone's not talking about me............Look at that Alien Guy, he's a real jerk. LOL
Most of my responses that may seem like flames are really meant in the vain of humour, although I don't profess to be funny all the time. But, if I'm considered an asshole, oh well.

Honest, I really don't think Alien is a jerk . He is more like a narrow minded, immature being that sees and accepts the world only his way , and doesn't know any better..... an irritating whinny kid. Also some confuse being obnoxious with being funny, then feel picked on when they get negitive reactions to their posts. Just because someone can get onto the internet dosen't mean they suddenly aquire a bunch of social skills they don't have when dealing with people face to face. I decided a long time ago that if I reacted to every negitive comment some idiot has made to me, I'd either be heavy weight champion of the world, in prison or dead.

Good points and I definitely agree with the following ,
