Why do some posters go out of their way to target others?

I see the thread that I wanted to contribute to has been deleted so I shall state my case here.

There seems to be an ongoing trend to just out of the blue say something nasty in response to anothers post.
That is not what we are here for.
Hell dont we have enough B.S. with people we do not like, yet have to associate with in our real lives?
If you dont like what someone posts or has to say(and I am not talking about intellectual debates here),put them on ignore or skip their post.
It does not make you look like a big man to attack someone on an internet message board.

I see it happen on other boards as well. It's easier for people to attack on the internet, their identity is obviously concealed.

Something that drives me nuts......

How many people have superiority complexes. Everything they do in their little world is correct and anybody that differs, in any way, poo poo on them. Unfortunately, online it usually turns into a huge flame war.

There is more repect shown on this board than on many others, especially with people with diverse interests and backgrounds.

Personally my attitude is live and let live, as long as it doesn't effect me. Who am I to judge anybody and tell them how they should be, or what they should be doing.

Now let's get back to having fun!

Maybe because some deserve it?

I don't think I go out of my way to flame anyone, but I do admit having little patience for posters who ask questions they should be able to find the answers for themselves, and for posters who ask questions which have been asked and answered many times before.

And I'm not stopping.

I agree with Homonger regarding newbies, but they're a problem on any forum. If you lay out the obvious, simple instructions of how to use a board feature you get to insult their intelligence under the guise of being helpful. *g*

I'll bite...

boredom and insecurity? I work with a fellow who's always bugging someone, so it's safe to say unhappy and unfulfilled.

What do I know I just enjoy the ladies and vacations!

I think, to some degree, that people who openly criticize others on a board where anonymity is very commonplace - are basically filling a void from elsewhere.

I will bet my billion-five that if one of those individuals took their chatroom stance with someone on a street corner - they'd wind up picking their teeth up off the sidewalk like chicklets.

My personal picture of those who attack others in chatrooms, are probably still living in their parent's basement spot-welded to their chairs like some prototypical ***** who probably wishes that they could still wear their fancy hulk underoos. Of course, that is purely speculation on my part - maybe they are captains of industry - taking time off from solving world hunger, or chatting with Mr. Greenspan in regards the threat of a deflationary environment...whatchya think is more likely???

It seems that "other board" not t-bills, but the c....2000 is at least making effort to right some past nastiness that was posted and to post the truth of it.
I like to believe everyone has the power to change - in a positive direction.
Oh really/
Posting blatant untruths?
Going on campaigns against all incalls and MP's?
Yah great board.
