Why do ppl play Lotto Max when Lotto 649 has higher odds and the ticket is cheaper?

There is very little difference, if any, in life style, whether you win $70m or $5m. Anything over $5m becomes irrelevant. It's just a number.
But the odds of you losing become significantly higher with that EXTRA digit in Lotto Max.
True but the thought of winning 70M is carefree money whereas some can go through 5M likes they do a roll of toilet paper. LOL

Imagine playing Lotto Max and matching 6 numbers, extremely unlikely, but very lucky... and then going on to win only $4800.

Then kicking yourself in foot, and thinking if you played 649, and matched 6, you would have $5million and spent less money on the ticket too...

If you're going to imagine then why not imagine matching 7 numbers in Lotto Max and thank the heavens you didn't play 649 instead

Because imagining 6 has higher odds. That was the base topic of the thread. Why play 7 digits when 6 digits is cheaper cost and more likely ? For one's gambling budget you can buy 66% more tickets due to cost difference. There is not much difference in result. Everything in life will be like free whether you win 649 or Max. The only time results would matter is if you're super interested in owning a mega yacht or mega mansion. Otherwise, the cost of everything else is equally affordable regardless of 70m or 5m.

On the topic of Lotto Max, right now a jackpot prize hasn't been won in over a month. Played all over Canada yet no jackpot winner in a long time. No jackpot win last night and it is now 70 million with 62 max millions.

They have to sell about 99million unique printed tickets for a guaranteed winner. That's almost 0.5b in revenue. Till then, no winners are expected. Not guaranteed winner anyways.

The odds don't matter because you will never win the top prize, the odds are not 0 but they might as well be. If I was charging the beaches at Normandy and Sarge said I only had a 1 in whatever the lotto odds are, I'd pretty much assume I was going to make it [if I believed him]
This is also why you never ever buy multiple tickets or go in with others on tickets. Your odds go from in effect 0 to in effect 0, the actual odds being round off in realistic terms.
If you disagree, don't cross the street because your odds of getting run over and killed are higher... but you still do.
Avoid coitus because of Monkeypox, but you won't.

As such it's the top prize amount that makes the extra ticket cost worth it. I also tend to only play when it gets to the 50+ million range..

It doesn't work that way. Those 6 numbers you picked that matched on lotto max are not the ones that would win you the 6/49. The odds of those winning numbers matching up is pretty much 0
Also who says if you played 6/49 that you would have picked the right 6 numbers. Isn't lotto max 7 numbers. A pretty good chance if you picked 6 of the 7, they wouldn't be the 6 you need.
So chill. All Izz Well. Also you are not going to win the 4800 and neither will I.

You are on terb, you know that right. 5 million one time finances a pretty good lifestyle if you are sensible in your spending and investments
70 million gets you multiple 2 hour sessions a day, Riding in recent Rolls, top notch apartment. 5 million you still make choices, 70 million, unless you are a complete tard who is trying to show off, you no longer have to.

You have good points. I was just thinking it out that if the odds are 0, might as well spend the least money possible, because you're literally throwing it out for a chance to win, so that would be $3, not $5, as you won't win either the 649 or the Max. Like you said, don't buy multiple tickets. Point is cost.

The purpose of lottery is to give you false hope so that you can go on living your life not in total misery.

You are paying for the dream, I'd rather dream of 70 million than 28, for only 2 bucks more much like Clubber Lang, it ain't so bad. Double plus so when most of the time I don't play those at all.

Well I guess we're lucky Canadians don't have to pay tax on winnings. Imagine paying tax on 70m like they would in the States.
