A subject of discution on canoe which I think it was interesting. But I ask myself a question. Why the English-Canadian are so proud to pay of their pocket to have the queen of England still in our legislation and treat us as a colony? You don't have enough to be treated as sub-people, colony, instead of establishing as a country? They should get rid of the queen of England, on our currency, in assermentation and all refers to her. They pay to make laugh of one I find.

LOL These are friggen types of immigrants we seem to be letting in recently. People who don't want to become Canadian, or know our history and traditions, but like the passport and the benefits we're suckers to hand out.

Actually, they don't treat us as a colony and we don't pay the Queen anything. So your entire question is based on inaccuracies.

Sounds like a bitter immigrant to me.

Is he for us, or against us? He's all "you're dumb" yet refers to "our currency".

Hey Retardapottamus, Elizabeth is the Queen of Canada, independently and separate from her other monarchies. Gotta love it when your second part time job (s) is Queen of a bunch of countries...

Assermentation; noun. The love of getting it in the butt. From dudes.

Friddrikk,

Respectfully, the issue here isn't his English language skill, but his (second) ignorant assault on one of the fundamental pillars of Canadian constitutional democracy. Doesn't matter if he's an immigrant, separatist, or whatever - he's factually incorrect.

I'll admit my response was a bit juvenile, but I think that's not inappropriate given that his sole purpose in coming here appears to be trolling for indignant outrage. It shows a demonstrable lack of understanding of how our government works, and a profound disrespect for this country and its institutions.

Just my personal reaction.

/And I'm done feeding the troll....

LOL that's me alright, except I also have a passport from my red, white and blue birth country to the south. An American-Canadian is an oxymoron though, you can't be both really. A pre-requisite of becoming Canadian is to hate Americans. :)

But, I like the Canadian passport to travel on in Europe. Makes me look more benign but I really don't give a rats ass about The Queen or her weird family.

Wrongo, buddy. We love Americans, our cousins to the south of us. It's only some irks and quirks of Americans and some of their polticians that give us issues.

With all due respect to your exalted mod status, i don't give a rats ass about that POS OP as he is attacking Canada's heritage. It is no coincidence that the most civilized and enviable go to places on this Earth share the joy of being part of the English sphere of influence.

OHHHHH maybe I'll be banned.

Stating an opinion about politics does not make it open season for personal insults.

Maybe you should be banned.

There are limits to 'personal opinions". I've goy lots of "personal opinions" on many people and things but i don't state them on TERB as it goes beyond what the norm considers reasonable.

Try to follow along with my logic here.

The guy comes to this country as its likely better than the shithole he came from. There are many reasons why we are better , mainly the English rule of law and personal property. for whateever twisted reason he harbours the grudge of envy he feels he can take afree swipe at the system that has provided him with what he didn't have in his "own" country.
He does that he becomes the enemy.

there is no defence for his attacks on our Monarch in this and the other thread.

If my defence of our Monarch warrants a banning, then so be it. And I pity those that can't distinguish freedom of expression from the vitriol he spouts.

Discuss the argument, not the person making it.

It is you who doesn't seem to understand the concept of freedom. Our freedom allows him an opinion. If you don't like it, fine. You're entitled to one too, so argue against his opinion. Or must one be fluent in your choice of language to be entitled to an opinion?

And try to be a little less condescending. Try to follow this logic. His argument is against a system. Yours is against an individual.

We won't mention that personal insults are not permitted on TERB. I'm sure you're aware of that.

This is not debateable. he comes here and insults my Monarch. This is our system, if he doesn't like it he can return to whatever place he came from.

So, I've lived here all my life.

If I 'insult your monarch' where are you going to send me?

Or is this country only for people who think exactly like you?

The freedoms of our system say that he's entitled to an opinion, just as you are. If you embrace this system, you had better embrace that part too.
