As Earp wrote earlier, I do think the goal of the NFL was to please and raise awareness of the huge Latino market.
Latino music is absolutely huge. For me, it's a bit like country music. Country is incredibly popular in the US and rural areas all over Canada. Yet you never hear it in mainstream media.

I never heard of him until it was announced he will be the halftime show at the Superbowl.
Like Bad Bunny's Superbowl show or not, the plus to take away was likely having the Orange Pedo Racist burst a vein when this happened.

People are watching the spectacle of it not necessarily enjoying it.

I am not a big fan of his music either.
But it wayyy better than watching a TPUSA country music singer go - "I just wanna catch my fish, drive my truck and drink my beer". lmfao.
His music bangs with good speakers on a hot summer day with some brews and women around. That is, IF, you get over the fact that he raps in Spanish.

I'm actually getting the sense that the Turning Point halftime show did pretty well on YouTube.
It would be ridiculous to compare the ratings with the Super Bowl halftime show.
Most people aren't going to make a fuss and have the host change the channel.
And just as importantly, we're all heading to the bathroom or to the food table.

This is a far cry from the figures amassed by the Super Bowl. Official numbers are yet to roll in for Bad Bunny’s performance, but they’re being projected to be around the 128 million mark, which would make it one of the most-watched half-time shows in history.
The record was achieved by Kendrick Lamar, whose set in 2025 reached highs of 133.5 million viewers.
Turning Point USA, founded by late far-right commentator Charlie Kirk, announced its alternative halftime show last October amid mounting conservative criticism over the selection of Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime performer. The award-winning rapper has been a vocal critic of US president Donald Trump.
Musician Kid Rock, an outspoken supporter of the president, went on to say that the Turning Point show was engineered for conservative Americans to celebrate their patriotism, adding that right-wing views are not represented in mainstream media.
“There’s a big portion of this country, like it or not, that’s underserved entertainment-wise,” Kid Rock said. “We’re just [going to] go play for our base. You know, people who love America, love football, love Jesus.”
The White House expressed support for Turning Point’s show, reposting a video of it on social media. Secretary of defence Pete Hegseth wrote on X that his family had tuned in.

Was talking to a Chilean friend of mine today and she said that she watched the halftime show and couldn't make out any of the words, lol...I said just like me and American Rap, lol.
What passes as music today is astounding but my dad said the same thing to me when I was young...So there's that.
In terms of musicians that have created music the last 5 years, Bad Bunny would likely be considered one of the top 5 popular musicians in the US

No problem with the concept of counter programming at half time. That has been done before and I have no problems with it. But there is no doubt that it was politically charged and led to stupid attacks on Bud Bunny.
