I love stand-up comedy. I have been to the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal two years in a row now. It is a real art to crack jokes on stage in front of people. Through the years, which one is your favorite?

Bill Hicks, hands down. Years ahead of his time, too bad he died in the 90's. Every comedian to ever come after him that tried to be cleverly abrasive were just getting sloppy seconds.

I highly recommend downloading some of his stuff from limewire.

Steven Wright (when he was new)
Eddie Murphy (when he was new)
Seinfeld (whenever he gets around to doing stand-up)
George Carlin
Jay Leno
Bill Maher (has the occasional zinger, but is better at his other routines)

These are the only ones I can name. The new guys are fun to watch but I can never remember their names.

P.S. PH9, did you hobby in MTL?

Yes, Dennis Miller is one of my favorites as well. Forgot about him, probably, because his HBO show got canned.

Cosby in the 70s was great. I marvel at the fact that he could be so funny yet keep it clean. I'd love to see him do a blue routine.

Chris Rock is my current fav. I like that he can be harsh and raunchy but he manages to throw in a bit of social commentary.

It's not quite stand up but what do you guys think of Henry Rollins spoken word stuff? It can be funny at times.

Chris Rock and Robin Williams in a tie.

Carlin, Leary, Murphy (a long time ago)

Can't stand Dennis Miller. He's beyond washed up.
