Some people are already saying on Twitter that he is anti-Semitic. (This is ironical since he is replacing a liberal New York Jew.) Why is he making fun of "fat chicks"?

Very important question: Does he support gay marriage?

I don't care if he is anti or pro-anything. He's just not in Jon Stewart's league. I don't get it. He's not funny. I've watched his three appearances on the show so far, and he clearly doesn't even deserve to be a stringer let alone a host. Be careful if you visit Comedy Central's executive offices -- I think there's a gas leak.

I think this is the tweet you are referring to:
"Behind every successful Rap Billionaire is a double as rich Jewish man #BeatsByDreidel"
"Oh yeah, the weekend. People are going to get drunk and think I'm sexy - fat chicks everywhere"

If people are going to get upset about this, I honestly don't know what to say anymore. I'm Asian and had to deal with racism before, but to consider this anti-semitic, really? Sometimes racism/ant-semtism gets thrown around so often that when it actually does happen, people aren't going to believe it.

I'm kind of glad they're not going to play it safe, and take a risk with more of an unknown. Who would you have picked Rob Riggle??? Samantha Bee???

The only people pretending to suggest this are partisan trolls trying to make politcal hay out of some banal shit a comedian said years ago. Noah ain't the first comedian to try out some of his weaker material on twitter, and not the first one to have it bite him in the ass. Which is stupid, because good comedians always prod the boundaries of what is acceptable and what isn't. (so do a lot of shitty ones, which kinda clouds the issue) But the only ironic thing about it is all the free speech heroes that are hypocritically calling for his head for some dumbass shit he said years ago solely because they don't like the leftie feel of the Daily Show.

I had a similar reaction to the one Daily Show spot I saw him in, but other appearances elsewhere have me thinking he may do a good job after all. Unfortunately can't remember where I saw the non Daily Show appearances, but I remember being impressed with a quick wit that went beyond same-old jokes and material. I'm cautiously optimistic.

In my lifetime, comedy went from edgy, controversial and relevant to whatever passes for comedy on the Comedy Central, these days. There still are real comedians out there, but the TV ones are becoming so filtered, they are virtually unwatchable.

I vaguely remember Michael Richards (Seinfeld fame) saying something about black people and he was fired. Will try to find a link. BTW: Seinfeld can be funny without being offensive and/or hurtful.

Just seen him once and I think he could be good. He seems intelligent with a quick wit which is a great asset for interviews.

I think those tweets and his appearances just weren't very funny, and they were intended to offend. So if his kind of humour we'll get from the daily show, I'll stop watching. Sad...

I agree with you. However, take some time and watch some old Seinfeld episodes. Ironically, many of the classics could never be made in today's hyper-PC intolerant world.

like Married With Children. And to think it was aired on fox originally. All those anchor's heads on Fox would be spinning if CBS aired a show like that today.
