People tend to rave about Food for Life in the Annex... their Sweet Potato fries are pretty good..

King's Café 192 Augusta, at Baldwin in Kensington Market, good food and good prices, dinner for two $30 range, casual dining.

I heard Fressen on Queen is good, #3 on NOW's list.

There's an asian place on the west side of Spadina just south of Dundas....
it's on the second floor and has a green sign that says something like Bo Deduyen or something like that. Tons of veggie dishes but they try to emulate meats the vegetarian duck is really good.

La Commensal is good I like the buffet and pay by weight strategy. It's a good veggie place with a western slant.

Agree with the comments on Le Commensal. fyi they are part of a Quebec chain and there are locations in downtown Montreal and Quebec City.
Also worthwhile checking out is the Lotus Pond in Scarborough which is owned by Chineese Buddhists.
2 of my favorite places for vegatarian Indian food (not totally veg restaurants) are the Bombay Palace on Jarvis and Sher-e-Punjab on Danforth.
For other suggestions, go to www.veg.ca.
