Funny thing is that just because someone has a satelite dish on their property does not mean that it is in use.
People buy & own satelite dishes, if Bell Canada comes onto your property to check if the satelite dish is receiving signal without your permission, they are trespassing.
The only reason that they can come onto your property without your permission is to do any work at the demarcation point... so do not place your equipment (dish & cables) anywhere near the telephone demarcation point
and if you do steal satelite signals.. do not tell anyone.. keep it to yourself.. as you do not need headaches from jealous people like shania's thong

I have always wondered about those DirectTv Dishes ...I understand if you pirate expressvu you are stealing. After all there is a place to pay for the service. However if you descramble directTv signal are you really stealing since you can't pay for it? I mean all the people that had dishes before the Canadian Goverment decided that it was hearsy, one day they were legal the next not? Seems like if I were to descramble some signals from europe would anyone really care. Stop satellite signal theft from Poland? My understanding is that there is no problem in receiving and viewing satellite signals, either domestic or foreign, if they are unencrypted. The old C band ( 10' dishes) and ku band programming is still free. However, when the content owner, either the US signal provider or the Canadian company that bought the rights to distribute those signals here, encodes or encryptes those signals, any attempt to unencrypt them without their permission is in fact stealing.
