See, there IS a difference between what is said in that cartoon and how the original poster used the term. In the cartoon, it is said purely in jest and in a comical manner but to call all the ladies on terb "bitches" isn't in the same vein at all IMHO.

I think Ariel said it best: we've become desensitized to derogatory labels and I for one feel that isn't a good thing. I know I know, it's only a word but wars have been fought over words.

For eg: I used to have an ex and on the rare occasions when she proved me wrong I'd say under my breath but so she could hear me bitch and we'd laugh. But if I came into the house and said Hi Bitch.....well, we all know what would happen then......and it wouldn't be pretty and there would have been sharp objects involved and probably a body bag.

I think considering oneself a citizen of a particular country and even a particular society is shortsighted. I'm a citizen of the world; at the moment, Canada, and more specifically Vancouver is my neighbourhood; however, I've got a passport, and I'll use it if I think I'd be better off elsewhere. Being part of a doom-fearing and xenophobic population on a particular chunk of real estate doesn't seem particularly useful. Those things don't make any sense to me at all. But somehow, society is very adamant about it. If a girl exercises free will, she has no self-respect. What?!


So yes, I consider myself a slut, and I wear the title proudly. No, it' doesn't literally mean I will go to bed with *anybody* but it does mean I do the things I want to do, including going to bed with guys I deem worthy for my own reasons, because I will enjoy it... and you know what?
