White Fragility: the term is meant to describe any defensive instincts or reactions that a white person experiences when questioned about race or made to consider their own race. White Fragility , views racism in the North America as systemic and often perpetuated unconsciously by individuals.

White Fragility serves to be a defensive response by a white person when their whiteness is highlighted or mentioned, or their worldview is challenged, whether this response is conscious or otherwise. Examples include a white man accusing someone of "playing the race card" or a white woman (Karen) crying to avoid conflict. The term proposes that white people are used to viewing themselves as "raceless" or the "default" race, and as such are insulated from feelings of racial discomfort. It describes racism as systematic rather than overt and conscious, arguing that racial segregation has shaped the United States. Research points that children aged 3 upwards believe it better to be white in North America.

Excellent conversation tonight with friends over this term. Imagine being shaped by a socio/educational system that tells you the great men in history were noble, benevolent creatures. Your parents were taught this, your Grandparents were taught this, it goes back several centuries. You're conditioned to believe in this. Then, as it turns out, these 'Great Men' were slave owners, traders, bigamists, hypocrites, blowhards and opportunists. Most likely, their great deeds were done by Black, Brown or Asian people and they just took the credit.

A couple of my friends were just gobsmacked and had no answers to give (this is a 'Face to Face' conversation, no anonymous board to hide behind). One was so incensed that he left the table (the rest of us paid his bill). Then my friend "Rick", super good guy, as Canadian as you can get, married to a Bollywood Beauty said: "I know I'm a suburban white guy that never had any sort of money or health problems. Somewhere down the line, I must have said or done something nasty to somebody. I'm hoping I didn't mean it. I hope I never do it again."

I paid for Rick's dinner.

This type of behavior is not owned by white people and/or men. Men and women of all colors, races and beliefs have shared these behaviors throughout history.

There is a big bad world outside of your North American shame bubble.

Agree. Anybody who has even a basic knowledge of other races/cultures/religions know that no group is perfect.

For example, black slavery existed in darkest Africa long before the arrival of the white man.

Its still happening in Africa, this is apparently Libya, but other Islamic countries are famous for this, Mauritania is notorious for still letting it happen. How terrible is this?

Doesn't the Koran condemn this kind of behavior?

Amazing that all these people pretending it's not a thing get so triggered by conversations about other races getting equal treatment.

And to Ref's point, yes, the issue is the majority ethnicity getting sensitive by requests by minority groups and is not limited to whites. That said, in Canada (and the US) we are the majority group and we are a country that claims to respect the human rights.

To the Romans, black slaves made very good gladiators, they started migrating into Central Egypt when it was a direct protectorate of Rome. Once the Arabs established their Caliphate they routinely enslaved and converted blacks. But for the Europeans it was nothing more than naked capitalism.

In the US, the issue is a class issue. The poor are treated as subhumans, the problem is worse if you are also black.

No single-payer healthcare, weak social safety net, the price of higher-level education is outrageous, and now you have C19 which has taken away from the poor what little they have.

I do not want to minimize racism because it does exist, but the class issue is a much bigger problem.

So much cuckism these days. People with "white guilt" are pathetic. It's all a power play by those with less to get more. Plain and simple.

1) Cain was black.
2) The largest empire in human history is the Islamic Empire.
3) The white man can't be so bad since the Hong Kong Chinese want the Brits back.

I thought it was the Persian Empire which pre dates Islam but I'm probably wrong?

Dartsy got it right Druid, The Ummayad Caliphate stretched from the Indus River to Spain.

They tried to extend the Islamic Empire further but were met with Greek Fire at the Siege of Constantinople and the conquest of the Frankish Kingdom was stopped by Chales The Hammer. When Charlemagne became King of the Franks, his first order of business was to conduct raids across the Pyrenees. He lost another of battles but won the war. The Moors would never attempt to conquer France again, nor would they be able to conquer Spain completely. The Asturians and the Basque retained their independence.

So what about the Mongols where do they rank? I honestly like to know this stuff.

LOL

Let go of your ego and this stuff will not bother you. Just don’t contribute to the hate in this world and try to give more then you take from others without expectation when in reality these people will try to take that and hurt you with it when they see you giving without expectation.

Surround yourself with people you love and who love you back, stay away from people with hate in their hearts and your life will feel complete with experience.

What’s happening now is exploitation of peoples ego vulnerability and triggers to make people less conscious and more tiribal. Think of it as learning the lesson the hard way by getting the 3rd degree burn since you won’t do it they will do it for you.

Individualism is important and so is valuing an individual decision to tribe. However, anything forced will backfire.

If you can’t do this now picture yourself on your death bed and see if you would have any regrets. Really try to do this accurately. Then go back and change your life so you don’t have these regrets when this happens. You will notice your ego is your devil. Your real and greater jihad is your everlasting fight against your ego which prevents you from truly experience, life, love and your humanity.

In this existence the only real truth is our consciousness, our humanity, love and experience. Don’t let anyone take this from you because one day you will realize what you missed out on which is time as your fully present being which you will not be able to get back once you do realize this.
