Being an outcall hobbyist myself, I have had the oppurtunity to sample many of the hotels in the downtown core. I usually get a suite and book an SP accordingly. Which hotel is your favourite to hobby in? Take into consideration the decor, staff, location, aura, even class of establishment when answering. Now I am only talking about the nice hotels, 4 stars and above...

This thread kind of details what I once asked before:

Surprised at Hilton being the winner here so far-even though I do stay there a lot for a number of reasons-I like Ruth Cris' for a great protein fix in between spilling my juices. Parking is easy, safe, and atm is close. Just wish they got some new softer beds like the Sheratons. Also, am told sp delivery after 11pm can be problematic-but as I usually start my later sessions by 10:30pm I haven't encountered this personally.

Le Germain and Park Hyatt would be my favorite rooms. Gotta love the view thru the glass wall of the shower at the Germain. Unless of course the Lady is not one to really clean up, then the view can be a negative.

Totally agree Babebanger. I like the Hilton for my steak fix as well. Can't beat Ruth Chris. The Germain's glass bathrooms are a nice touch. The Park Hyatt has great rooms and a decent view of the city. The Club level at the King Eddy is really nice, but I prefer their Royal Suites on the lower floors. In terms of location, in-room amenties, and staff my vote goes to the Windsor Arms. They are very pricey, as I think there cheapest room is about $400. But they have jacuzzi's in all their rooms, with DVD players and surround stereo. They even have audio controls in the bathroom. Anyone that has stayed there knows what I am talking about. They also have a 1:6 guest to staff ratio. Call me a sucker for service, but IMHO the Windsor Arms is the most upscale hotel in the city. Book a night there and you'll know what I mean...

So true A1, although I am not one to criticize the chef at the Windsor Arms, I would love to have Ruth Chris' steak there. The food is always good at the Arms, but you can't beat that steak the Ruth makes...

I am not certain of his name. I can dig it up if I do a bit of research, but that will take a while. He is very good though.

I don't have a favorite hotel for hobbying per se, but over the years, I have stayed at a number of hotels in the downtown core, so I offer up a few observations.

My most frequent hotels used are the Sheraton on Queen, followed by the nearby Hilton. I like the Sheraton because of its location, its access to the underground tunnels (very useful during the winter), and what seems to be a very sp friendly environment. The lobby always seems to be busy, so there is never any reason for an sp to feel self-conscious. I like the Hilton too, for similar reasons, although I prefer the decor and appreciate that there are mini-bars in all of the rooms (at the Sheraton you only get a mini-bar on the Club level). The only downside of the Hilton is they will intercept people walking into the hotel after 11pm. Usually all they do is call you and confirm you are expecting a visitor. It is not a huge deal, but a slight hassle.

I have stayed at the Inter-Continental on Bloor a couple of times. Again, great location, very nice rooms, and never any hassles. Ditto for the Marriott on Bloor near Bay. The rooms in this Marriott are usually very good sized with interesting configurations, the only drawback being no mini-bar. The Marriott Courtyard on Yonge is a place I've stayed only when I wanted a cheapo rate via Priceline. The rooms there are kind of blah, but there is free internet, and again, no sp hassles.

Every now and then, I will stay in the Dundas/Jarvis area, either at the Grand or Comfort Suites. The rooms at the Grand are quite nice, and usually there is a very conveniently placed mirror by the bed which appeals to the voyeur in me. At the Comfort Suites, I always reserve the two room suite with jacuzzi. It is nice having a separate living room and kitchenette, and the jacuzzi is wonderful for sp action. Only downside is the location, which isn't the ritziest.

Finally, I like the Pantages on Victoria near the Eaton Centre. The rooms are very nice, beautifully furnished and good sized, with a kitchenette and even a washer and dryer. The big downside about this place is that the elevators require a room key to operate, so therefore you have to go down to the lobby to meet your guest.

I have stayed at the Pantages a number of times as well. The rooms are very nicely furnished and the beds are very comfortable as well. However the huge downside of that hotel is the room service menu is horrible and not 24 hrs. That goes for the Comfort Suites as well. I also always get the two room suite with jacuzzi. However they also do not have room service. The Grand Hotel has a great jacuzzi suite with IMO has the best jacuzzi in the city, but the downside of that room is that there is no couch.

Homonger it is funny but I think we have very similar taste in room selection at these fine establishments. As a suggestion though, the next time you get a chance really try to book a room at the Windsor Arms. It is my favorite and I always stay there. They have a great bar downstairs with live music every night Wed to Sunday. There room service menu is very good, and they have butlers at your service. They also have a butlers pantry in every room, so when you order things and don't feel like interacting with the staff they just leave it in the pantry for you. This also avoids the constant tipping. It is very pricey, but there is no harm in treating yourself once in a while. Anyways, hope you try it out once buddy.
