While I think Quebec's laguage policies have done serious harm to the province I have to take exception to this statement. Firstly France is much more guilty of turning the language into Franglais than Quebec who actually employs laguage nazi's to preserve the language. Secondly the Newfies of the French world are the Cajun's.

This is true. People in France tend to think that Quebec French is bastardized but it's actually closer to old French as they've been isolated and preserved it more. Southern U.S. English was also closer to the English of two or three hundred years ago than British English but in the last few decades that's been changing.
