The obvious problem is "fair" is totally arbitrary. The other problem is that you have to dedicate huge resources to control that "fairness", which seldom works.

Phil also said that one has to "work" the system, not "play" the system. They are similar, but also subtly different. Working the system is exactly what Bezos, etc do. They create businesses that employ people, which create opportunities for others. All while paying payroll, corporate and other taxes. They are not the same as Pablo Escobar running illicit operations from inside prison, murdering people and burying cash in the ground.
Its 'fair' for Bezos to hire lobbyists to get someone like the orange clown to lower taxes on the rich.
Is that 'working' or 'playing' the system?

I don't believe it is illegal to own an offshore account, but you have to declare it.

Exactly my point. Fairness is a totally arbitrary concept. The better question is should hiring lobbyists be illegal? If it should be illegal, then how far should we take it? If it's illegal for Amazon, then it should be illegal for all companies. If it's illegal for all companies, should we then talk about not subsidizing certain industries?

* capitalism

And the poster didn't mention trickle down economics (which was debunked 30 years ago). Is that something you heard and tried to use in a complete sentence? And yes capitalism, with appropriate oversight and regulation, IS a very good thing. Ignorance and a lack of knowledge, however, is not.

Seriously?You also believe in trickle down economics too right? You also think capitilism is a good thing too right ?

Memes are a very poor excuse for cogent, rational arguments.

How about a system that's just fair instead, and doesn't require you to 'play' it?
Frank. Think about it...The system that you want to be perfectly fair was created in a matter such that it can be manipulated while still following the rules. It helps some of their rich friends, who in turn kickback money. Like it or not, you should know this by now.
