Earlier on Monday, Abbas published a lengthy Christmas greeting, calling Jesus “a Palestinian messenger who would become a guiding light for millions around the world.”

The first part is certainly make believe. The second part that Israel bears a large responsibility for the flight of Christians from the Holy Land is when phrased that way - true.

Based on the title I assumed it was about lovehobby.

As for Christians in Israel, their population has been consistently growing and based on wikipedia have been doing better academically than any other group in Israel.

Though the conflict has had a limiting affect on Palestinian Christians in places like Bethlehem, the behaviour of several of the Palestinian factions give me no faith that they would be better off in an independent Palestinian state.


p.s. I wonder if Abbas knows what religion Jesus was.

Israel and every major Christian denomination with a presence in the Holy Land have had difficulties (the Orthodox, Anglicans, Lutherans, and Roman Catholics) in large part because almost all Christians in the Holy Land are Arabs.

Jesus a Palestinian? Hmm. Well. Sort of true. In that Palestinians are Jews who converted to Islam at some point. Does Abbas talk about that too?
