In light of the "Torrorist" and "Kadhr" threads, I believe many Americans are missing the big picture.

When do the terrorists win?

When the U.S. systematically eliminates the rights and freedoms that have made it a great country. The affects of this are far more reaching and lasting than any bomb blast.

I have yet to miss a freedom. I have been handcuffed at the Peace Bridge because I have a common name but never once blamed anyone. The fact I have common name puts me on notice as well as the Border.

Russian planes aren't taken because there's a 50% chance they will crash on their own.

That aside, your solution is a better one than the suspension of freedoms at home. We should do all we can to catch these bastards short of eroding the rights we hold dear.

I see the problem now. You're looking at it emotionally while I'm looking at it logically.

Khadr is a Canadian citizen. I am a Canadain citizen. If it can happen to him, it can happen to me. The argument, "I don't plan on committing acts of terror so I don't have to worry" is foolish. Especially if you consider the suspension of habeas corpus.

Why feed them 3 squares a day for 5 years? Bring it out in court, put it on the record and then deal with it.

In the meantime, I will hold the belief we are innocent until proven guilty as sacred. I don't know your background, but I lost relatives who fought and died for this belief.
