2, 3 and 4 are altered really well. The rest have spottable problems. Mostly color issues.

LOL I like #3 best. You know this is going to happen if they legalise cloning of animals and they learn more about how to mix genes. It will be the 'chic' thing to do among the idle rich.

Mmm I'm just wondering if it's too early to register "Design-a-pet" as a trademark.

I hope it does not come to that. I am thinking more alongs the lines of, What would you feed them and what thier life spans and health would be like??? Veterinarians would no longer have most of the answers.

In the words of Poison Ivy, Don't mess with Mother Nature.

Ligitimate concerns. I forget what it was called, but I'd read a sci-fi novel some years back with custom-cloned animals as part of the background story. The popular 'beasts' at the time were mythical - pegasus, unicorns, minataurs, cinataurs, mini-dragons, etc.

The rich won't give a s**t about the health issues or the life spans - only the value.

Between a rock and a hard place
Cloning exotic pets for recreation is an unlikely outcome of this technology. Unless the animals have corresponding chromosome counts, they will likely never be cross bred successfully. So a Bassajackelope or a Tabby-parrot will likely never happen.

Experiments have already ben successful with... are you read about these...?

A cat and a rabbit (cross matched, conceived, born)

A Spider and a goat (cross matched, conceived, born) They excrete milk that can be processed and woven into a high density silk that has been used to make light weight bullet proof vests.

An ancient wooly mammoth and a modern day elephant. (cross matched, conceived, stillborn)
