With adrenaline and endorphins, there is very little pain involved in mild to medium spanking - and the pain with rougher stuff, like hard spanking, caning, flogging, etc. is incredible. And I feel like even most vanilla people are into hair-pulling.

If done in a playful manner I find both enjoyable but am not into hard core stuff (e.g. caning, etc.). I get that for some pain is pleasure, but that's beyond my level. I guess like many activities, various sexual ones come into and out of fashion. Similarly where you were raised influences your sexual preferences. For example, I was raised in England during the 60's. Spanking, slippering and caning were daily activities at my school.
