At the range!!!
Asteroids, Robotron, Targ, Donkey Kong, Galaxian. Years later Elway Football became an addiction and now I save my quarters and frustrate myself with suduku.

first (for me) was at the mall and stores:

space invaders
asteroids

next at dedicated video arcades:

joust
robotron
galaga
Q-Bert
Operation Wolf
Star Wars (the orignal with vector graphics)

then everyone went home (PCs, Nintendo, etc.)

now at GameWorks, Dave & Busters, Jillian's, Sega Playdium, etc.

Crazy Taxi
Silent Scope
LA Machine Guns
etc.

Gorf?

anyone remember GORF?

...that and the original TRON game were classics at the Roller Rink...

Robotron 2084, Defender and Battlezone (with the freaky periscope thingy) also honorable mentions...

old pooners!

A lot of the games you guys are naming are from the late 70’s early 80’s. I remember them, so I am old too. But If you guys played those games in high school….well you guys ARE OLD FARTS!! LOL :D

Ahh...the good old days when we used to play Galaxian with the juxe box blasting "Urgent" by Foreigner.

My favourites were Galaxian, Defender, Centipede. Later I used to play Galaga.

Rip Off was a good one. It looked a lot like Asteroids; simple monocolour lines. You could play one person or two, and with 2, You can play as a team, or as opponents, but either way, there is a common goal.

There are a bunch of "fuel" triangles in the middle, and alien ships come in shooting, and also trying to steal the fuel, and drag it off the screen. You're trying to shoot the alien ships for points, and trying to defend the fuel to keep the game going. You have left-right-up-down acceleration, and if you go off the screen, you come out on the opposite side. If an alien ship hits you, or if you collide with either an alien ship or your team mate/opponent, You disintegrate, and return in the same spot a few seconds later.

I only remember seeing this one in a few places, but I remember that the artwork on the machine was by comic book artist Frant Brunner.
