I'd say that this post by Gentle Ben summarizes how the scene was. Rates were at least $180/hour and up (mostly outcall for the Downtown Toronto area). And MSOG was less prevalent too unless a guy booked at least a 2-hour session. When I first tried to find pay-for-play options in 2001 I spent like 1 week doing internet searches until I found Dave In Phoenix's website and became more knowledgeable from there. Before Dave's website I didn't even know there was a plaza with 2 MPs like a 15 minute walk from me. Nowadays I'd think it would be easier for the average Internet user to find a site like TERB within a few minutes and start their research from there.

All I used was Yellowpages for years. Westend Escorts was my regular agency. Max the phone guy always took care of me. I used to pay 180 an hour, a few of the ladies were in there twenties but mainly milfs ( I actually called last night after reading this thread and was quoted 240 and didn't like the description of the ladies). I would also hobby on road trips to Montreal and Windsor when I visited buddies in University. I remember Lyla's List. I enjoyed that site as an early intro, for me, to this activity. The site was owned and moderated by Christine, "Joyful-Spirit". Her own postings were usually very informative and sensible. Christine is still in business and probably still has her loyal followers.

It was the dawn of the great "asian invasion". The first wave were hot, young, and sexy. Now we just get Hong Kong's leftovers--the industry has decided that white Canadians can't tell the difference between 25 and 40, so we get what they've thrown out.

I recall from back then a very different SP scene. Agencies were really small, no one except Allison's had a roster of more than 8 girls. Prices were $220 and cbj was the norm and no one offered cim or cof; even anal was almost unheard of.
Things began to change in 2003 when the EE invasion came. Girls like Dominique, Sherri and Bobbie took over the industry like a tsunami and services began getting more liberal. Prices began to creep up and more agencies popping up.
And when Canada is tired of them, they are sent to the States.....

The Canadian dollar was weak so Americans got a discount. The border was a snap pre 9/11. Roman's Babies in Welland had some cute girls that offered cbj for $100 and cfs for $200, so with the exchange rate it was $70 for a cbj. Lots of extra milage at Sundowners and Private Eyes also. I didn't know about review boards then, so when you called an escort you were never sure who was going to walk in the door.
