Gee thought this place would be going nuts about Mr. Harper saying he never nothing about a bribe but then is hear on tape talking about it.
Historically the Liberals are #1 for scandals, bribes and corruption.basketcase said:I guess in their mind, bribery of government officials ranks far below the political favours they attack the previous government for.
I think only because historically they've been in power more.notenufmuff said:Historically the Liberals are #1 for scandals, bribes and corruption.
I guess we just expect this sort of thing now from politicians.S.C. Joe said:Gee thought this place would be going nuts about Mr. Harper saying he never nothing about a bribe but then is hear on tape talking about it.
That's because historically they are the country's natural government.notenufmuff said:Historically the Liberals are #1 for scandals, bribes and corruption.
To add, he is very concerned with attacking the Ontario government (which just happens to be the one that kicked him out of power).fuji said:...
We've also got the current Finance Minister suprising Ontario with a train line that no-one in his Ministry has costed out that follows a careful route through the ridings of as many Conservative MP's as possible...
The news is reporting the details and has since the story broke.train said:... I have no idea what the bribe offer was but you can bet there was one of some sort. ...
It is surprising to me that a federal finance minister would caution investorsbasketcase said:To add, he is very concerned with attacking the Ontario government (which just happens to be the one that kicked him out of power).

Is the current government not a government for all of Canada?
Do you think it is OK for a federal finance minister to discourage investmentLancsLad said:Was the previous one???????????????????
One theory making the rounds is that the conservatives would continue to pay for Cadman's existing life insurance policy he had as an MP. No medical exam would have been necessary. It's a continuation of existing coverage.train said:I don't think we have heard the whole story here. I have no idea what the bribe offer was but you can bet there was one of some sort. One thing I know though is you can't buy a life insurance policy on someone with terminal cancer so that part of it has to be bogus.

That depends on what the taxes are spent on. My employer provides the same standard health care benefits in every jurisidction the company operates in worldwide. The plan costs nearly $1000/month for employees in some parts of the US, and around $80/month for employees in Canada.LancsLad said:These days tax rates and levies can kill profits, so in the interest of business the Minister was simply offering up some fairly standard advice.
can't say it I really care too much about itS.C. Joe said:Gee thought this place would be going nuts about Mr. Harper saying he never nothing about a bribe but then is hear on tape talking about it.
Giving good financial advice to McSuint is being the government for all of Canada. Since Ontario is among the highest taxed for business, maybe they need a wake up call.danmand said:It is surprising to me that a federal finance minister would caution investors
