Mid 70's was the beginning of Punk Rock then came the new wave alternative that led to the 2nd British music Invasion.

Grew up around Eglinton and Allen road. The road and subway were not open.

Rode our three speeds to one of the bridges that spanned the Allen, lifted the bikes over the fence, road down the hill, often someone would tumble off the bike, and explored the Eglinton west subway station. There were no security guards or fences or barricades. Even took a push cart for a ride.

Explored black creek from Eglinton to Lawrence during the summers. Left the house after Rocketship 7 and home for Commander Tom. We hopped fences that backed on to the ravine, helping ourselves to fruit and veggies in their yards.

Someone would steal a few smokes from their parents and we pool our monies and hit the corner store.

Hit puberty and made out in laneways and in the parks. Cedarvale and Fairbank were my go to parks. Thought I overshot the first time that I fingered a girl. Thought a pussy was located on the front, like a dick. 😆

Feel sorry for the kids today. We really fucked them up.

Yeah, safer today. For example, the diving board at the community pool was taken away. Way back, I almost cracked my head open on the underwater ledge.
Exchanging freedom for safety eventually leads to neither.

In the wake of Billion Dollar Babies came Brazilian fusion (rock, jazz, classical) it blew me away. At the time I hadn't seen Stanley Kubrick's 2001. He had a creative block making it, he took LSD to unblock.

And last but not least...hey Rockfish.

Cool theme music.
Been watching it on CHCH every day, never did watch when it was first run. Pretty good series, for a guy who gets beaten up and knocked out in every episode, its a wonder he didn't develop dementia as show progressed, lol

Those days are gone forever..People in love as it was meant to be...No tattoos, no body piercings or green hair, beautiful ladies and well dressed and groomed handsome gentlemen dancing to love music...We've lost our way. Our parents knew better!!!!!! decency does not exist anymore

I like life better now than in any other decade. Maybe I am the only one.

I think people condense past decades into a Greatest Hits deal. When you consider true daily life, not the best days within, I think things are better now,

FORD stands for Fix Or Repair Daily. I will take my foreign car, thank you.

Every possible food item is available in any given five mile radius. You cooked your own damn food long ago, and there were few singles so you bought family sizes and ate it until it was gone.

You have access to information and access to any type of community now. Yes neighborhoods were friendlier then, but you better like it, because you weren’t getting very far from your neighborhood.

Same with travel. Flying all over the world, even flying all over North America, just didn’t happen long ago. How many sex workers have you talked to between cum #1 and cum #2 and found they know the Carribean like the back of their hand. People that age had barely left the state or province in the 1970s and 1980s.

And speaking of sex workers, I like the group of ladies I see regularly now better than the regulars I saw decades ago. Are they on average 10 pounds heavier and have 10 more tats than the girls decades ago? Yes. Did they start in the business five years later than their predecessors? Yes. But they are a hell of a lot less inhibited. Christ they offer a set of acronym services on a regular basis that would have made their mom‘s blush at that age. And you deal more with the lady herself who is running her own business and her own life, which makes her more confident.

You weren’t more free back then, you just had more mobility within a smaller bubble. I think the overall life experience is better now. Because of all the choices and opportunities, it is just more frightening and bewildering at times.
