Finding all the political stuff around here a little intense (and frankly over my head). So how about something a little lighter.

All of you terbites, i know there is no shortage of education and culture out there in the land of terb; so lets hear (and see) what your favorite piece(s) of ART is (are). Any genre, painting, drawing, sculpture etc... Famous, popular, local, unknown art. Anything you would consider art and has some meaning for you, for whatever reason.

Whether you've seen it in person or not. Or if its something you really want to see and have not had the chance to see yet. Post a pic if you can, if you can't just post the name or a description of it.

ok ill start. Michaelangelo's "pieta" in St Peter's Basilica in Rome.
Admittedly you have to see this in person to capture its beauty. The detail is so lifelike, its really beyond incredible. Blew me away with its beauty the first time I saw it.

I used to have a framed print hanging up in my garage that I think was a 50's calendar image originally. When I moved to Hamilton, someone dropped it and it got ruined, been casually seeing if I can find a large replacement ... but Gil Elvgren sems to have my vote art wise ... just my thing I guess.

Geez cycle guy, my mother has one of those hanging in the livingroom. the one of the old man by the cottage with the cat and dog choked me up. Where did you purchase that one. I want to buy a print of it for my mother. Pm me if you'd like
Actually that was the first one we got. My wife said it SO reminded her of her Grand-Dad whom I never had the pleasure of knowing. He passed away about a month before I met her. :(

I actually got that one in an Art shop in London, On... but there is an art shop in Frederick Mall in Kitchener that carries James Lumbers, and if they don't have it, maybe they can order it for you. There is also a guy on the corner of Frederick and Victoria, but the name escapes me right now...

Good luck Twinklegirl.
