A recent thread discusses the increase in fees to purchase a hour's time with an SP. Apart from the emotional or relationship aspects there is the dollar cost. It appears that these 'fees' for an hour of bliss will increase from $170 to approx $200.

Well for many, it actually costs $400 to net $200 after income tax, to be paid in cash. That means that if you are earning $40/hour, you would have to work 10 hours to buy 1 hour. Oh well, was ever so.

So an increase in fees of $30, actually costs us $60. Ouch!

On a positive note, think of it as being screwed twice, once by the taxman, once by the SP!

Everyone seems to be focusing on the amount of the increase. But maybe from Mariah's standpoint... she just feels that she has been undercharging for too long. She's a smart lady and probably watches other agencies and independents coming into town charging $180 to $250 and wonders why the local ladies can't charge the same.

Of course maybe she doesn't need anymore new business and can now slow down a little and work strictly with her regulars. At the end of the day... these ladies have earned the right to charge whatever price they want. Supply and demand will decide in the end whether this was a brilliant business decision or not.

BTW... if she raised her prices a little bit every 6 months, most people would probably never notice. :p

Ultimately it is what the customer is willing to spend that will determine the prices. As a consumers of these services we are at a disadvantage, how can you make a good business decision with a hard on. I can't

I couldn't agree more. I often wondered how ladies from outside the area could come into town and charge more, yet the local ladies always kept their prices the same.

But of course, the real issue here is supply and demand. So what happened, has the supply of SPs shrunk, or the number of hobbyists expanded?
I do believe that the supply has shrunk in this area. But guys being guys, having a habit of "expanding", the good SPs will have no trouble charging whatever they wish to reduce the "swelling" crowds. ;)

LMAO! With the "expanding and the swelling," comments....no puns intended I'm sure. Lol!

However, on another note, I couldn't agree more, the supply seems to be shrinking in many areas and KW is just but one of the areas affected.

Same ladies who offer $160/180hr incalls in Hamilton and Burlington are asking $240/250 in Mississauga and Toronto, where the demand is alot higher.

so how would this work? If the availability is low, and the demand is high, the price should be high? however, if the availability is very high (like toronto) and the demand is high (like toronto), then why is the price so high?..

There are still a range of prices in Toronto as there are levels of demands for different levels of appearance and service. The cost of living is also higher as are most salaries so that also needs to be factored in.

Having experienced both the low and high price offerings in Toronto I can tell you that just like buying a TV or a car you can shop for price or quality (sometimes you get REALLY lucky and get low price and high quality). I think the Toronto market reflects a larger base of demand by offering prices from $180 to over $300 per hour. I've lived the $300 per hour once, and it was worth every penny compared to the $180 version a few months earlier. Kitchener is a small market and prices likely won't vary much for that reason, IMHO.

Point: I have no idea, I'm just rambling.

Oh, and Mariah at $200 per hour would beat in terms of total value the knock my socks off experience I had for $300 in T.O.

you missed one thing in the supply and demand equation.

Cost of doing business (or more likely in the case of SPs) cost of living.

The cost to live in KW has been going up. The cost in toronto has been through the roof for years. I've turned down jobs that paid more in Toronto as my quality of life would go down from cost of living. In KW I can afford a nice house and live well. in toronto I'd have a mid range apartment or something nice in a less then nice area.

Even if the SPs live outside the city they still need to have there "place of business"

could also consider the fact that there is alot more single businessmen with $$ to spend.. also its just the market.. its like why a good wedding photographer can charge a few G around this area yet charge 15k in LA.. its not just a supply vs. demand.. its more of there is so many people with lots of $ willing to spend it... its like why bars in new york. vegas..south beach charge 15-25 bucks a drink.. 800 bucks a bottle for bottle service...yet there is still plenty of supply vs demand...its almost just like its that cool, and the perceived value is higher... its kinda supply/demand but its not... well either that makes some sense or i've had way too many beverages tonight :) lol.

$$$`s

Kitchener has been lucky for a long time if you compare to what you would get in hamilton for the dollar.
Kitchener has high quality at a reasonable price, that`s not to say thats what any girl should get in Kitchener, but girls with a great rep that are that hot will have no problem.
I`m just outside Hamilton but have been cumming to Kitchener for years. (Savannah was great) In alot of cities the great girls burn out and fade away and many of the other girls will screw the guys around knowing the phone will ring anyways.. London and Kitchener are great places to been in the hobby.

Bad $300 experience?

calloway said:
You've obviously had some bad $300 experiences in TO... and that's not a knock against Mariah by the way.
Actually no, the $300 was the best I've ever had but I wouldn't say it was that much better than Mariah, since I'm more interested in GFE than PSE and one can certainly get a great GFE with Mariah (I'm sure YMMV).

However, the $180 experience? Yikes.....

Stoo, I was thinking about the "supply and demand" situation in KW and after seeing your name it hit me ... our supply seems to have reduced since you came back on the KW scene! Hey, I owe you after that recent jab about having no teeth! :p
